To the time when your Marauder was new, what would you have done to make things better down the road? What do you wish your prior owners had done to maintain the car better?
I'm asking as a new owner of a very very low mileage Marauder and I am in position to do those things! Looking to benefit from everyone's experience.
Are there certain hardware that you which had some anti-seize applied? Modifications you wish we're done earlier? Special care taken with any wear items?
I already have one... Don't scratch the rear bumper!

Here's my :twocents: -
Most of these cars would have been better off if they had been left alone, and the factory maintenance schedule had been followed IMO.
If you're going to change something, have a definite idea of what you're doing and what you're trying to accomplish by doing it.
With that being said, the first thing I'd do would be to get a reputable aftermarket tune.
. . . . I guess that was three cents . . . . ;)
I would have bought one marauder and not a single one more

I would have bought one marauder and not a single one more:shake: You've had what...6 or 7 now? Or do you just keep re-inventing the same ones over and over? :D

My prior owner could have not wrecked the front end of mine. That would have ben great. It's been taking me forever to get it right again. Besides that, I wish they would have boosted it and 4.10'd the rear end and took better care of the extremely hard to find floor mats.

I bought a brand new '04 in the "right" color, Silver Birch. :D I wish I had joined mm.net immediately! I wish I had pulled off the anything in the engine that was raw aluminium, and sent it off to be powder coated immediately. I wish I had more seriously considered sending the car to Kenny Brown, but at the very least, I wish I had gotten a custom tune (that came with a hand held tuner, so my stock tune didn't go "poof"....and gotten it a lot sooner. I wish I had gotten a daily driver a lot sooner. Other than that, it's all good. ~ Ms. D
These are some good ideas. This one will be a driver, but hopefully daily just for couple months. So far two have mentioned a good tune. Don't know anything about Kenny Brown yet... Need to search for that.

Would've bought it new and been the original owner. And would've never been driven in snow/salt/rain.
Still very happy with finding it with very low miles when I bought it!

I wish I wouldn't have bought a car touch by Dennis, I too have spent a lot of money and time making it right.
Gccch, Do yourself a huge favor and stay away from Dennis.
I wasn't lucky enough to buy a marauder new because I was in college, but here my words of advice:
If it's going to be your daily driver, run it through a car wash with an underbody wash weekly. When I sold my first marauder at 178,000 miles, there was less rust and corrosion under that car than my pristine blue marauder.
Always shut off the overdrive before you go wide-open throttle, the 4-2 shift will burn up your clutches and cost you money. If you're going to play around make sure O/D off light is illuminated.
If you don't want this car to become an obsession, keep it stock.
Never buy a second marauder that is supercharged, it will lead to a third marauder that is supercharged.
If your floormats are pristine, I suggest removing them and finding alternative daily driver floormats.
I tried many different tires on this car, the Nitto Motivos are the only ones I've ever bought a second time.
I would check the main wiring harness where it crosses over the lower front fender braces on each side. I've had three marauders and two showed excessive wear. I zip tied radiator hose around the harness were passes the brace.
Use Motorcraft FL-820S oil filters with quality oil.
Most of all, make sure you make it to marauder events, you will meet some of the nicest people in the car world.

I wish I never heard of Doug's Transmissions.
+1 on the Nitto Motivos. Love 'em.

Trilogy Twin Screw!!!!! I could have gotten a loan but put it off and painted the car instead; thinking they would stop producing the kits. I’m not sure I have the ability to do the Eaton swap correctly but at this point it’s the only thing I have left to do. The only mod I regret is the LED tail light addition that Fastblackmerc sold for a very short time, it doesn’t function as advertised.
I would have been less worried about others opinions on this site about my mods and appearance of my Marauder. The amount of **** I got for putting 20's on my car was over the top and I "no longer owned a Marauder" Apparently we all purchased $35K wheels. It is completely ok to throw all the performance parts in the world on it but you must make sure you race your 600hp Marauder on 245/55/18 BFG insta-frys.
For a community this small you would think there would be more cohesiveness but to say Marauder owners are opinionated would be the understatement of the year. A lot of knowledgeable people have left the site or no longer post because of the drama, it’s really sad it has to be that way.
Im glad to see the return of Zack as he has incredible knowledge about cars and is willing to share. Any and every modification conceivable has been done and discussed so make sure to go back and read the past threads. It’s really good to see all the newer companies and vendors bringing out new products, get them while you can! If you see something you want for your marauder BUY IT! Don’t wait, you never know when the parts will no longer be available. If you see floor mats or bumper covers for sale get them! They are almost worth more than our cars these days and drive the he11 out of your car and do whatever you wish to it. :burnout:

Tell the original owner to wash the damn love bugs off...nothing worse for the paint on a black car :(

I bought my DTR new and had a tune put on it and have been very satisfied with it as a driver as a minimum that is about all I would and will do to this one. I wanted one to play with so I bought a black one that was owned by Landy and modified very nicely with a Vortech. It is my play toy so I am not too worried about it breaking. But it has held up well for me. Good luck on your decision.
