So its time to do a stick shift swap on my 03 mm. I'm looking for Pierre. How do I get hold of him? I sent a pm but it shows he hasn't been active since 2012? I need a pedal assembly. Any help in his detection would be great. Thanks.

2004_p71 is his screen name on crownvic.net I've messaged with him before. If you don't have a crownvic.net account, don't plan on getting approved for one quickly.

03-04 cobra t56. I already had it sitting here. I noticed the length is the same as my 4r70w. I already transfered to input shaft over and even the u joints are the same. We will see if it does to in smooth. Lol

The parts I am planning to use...
03-04 cobra t56.
Spec 11" clutch.
6 bolt flywheel for 96-98 gt.
Modified crown Vic pedal per pier's specs.
99-04 clutch cable.
Firewall adjuster and ford racing quadrant.

I know it is but I like the simplisity of the cable and I have two 97 cobras and a notch that are all cable and don't mind driving them. Lol I prefer being able to feel the clutch. Not sure if it will all be done in a weekend but I'm shooting for it. I'll be using a lift and I'll have a friend helping me. He has a sweet shop and builds awesome cars all the time. I can trust his work so I at least won't have to check and make sure he us doing things up to par. Lol I'll keep everyone posted. I'll take what pics I can but I normally get to busy working to stop and take pics.

Dude

Thanks Richie. I'll swing it by when its done to show you that you need to swap yours over. Hahaha.

Dude

Well. Got the swap done. Less than 12 hours total. Still need to work on the tune but seems good so far. I'll try to post pics and give a rundown on the swap soon.

Trying to get the pics to download. I'm also making a remote shifter for it. Just installing a longer handle to bring it back isn't going to cut it. I want comfort and fun.. lol

Thank you. Well I have to say. I'm not as happy with the 6 speed as I hoped. I'm going to fix the tune and work out the bugs but it might be coming back out. Its just not as comfortable to drive. Not even as comfy as my cobras. Shoot, not even as comfy as my 10 sec notch. That's scary. Just the seating position is off. I'm used to all the way back and realaxed position. I'm over 6'2".. but having to sit up close to engage the clutch pedal kinda sucks. So, I might have a complete 6 speed swap with very low miles for sale soon. Lol

Holy Schnit Bob. Thats a lot going on there.

My 5 speed GM is pretty comfy. Im a big guy 6ft 300. And I have the seat all the way back. A friend of mine customized my shifter. Its Tall. Tall enough to where the leather on that shifter just bob has is too short. I can pretty much keep my arm/elbow on the center console (LX Sport center console) and shift through all gears. I don't currently have a picture and can't get one. Car is in the shop. I can tell you, it took a few different mods to get it just right. Oh and engaging the clutch petal is not an issue as it doesn't have to go all the way to the floor. He also heavily modified the pedals to be just right. Wish I could get some pics for you.

Dude
08-27-2014, 09:16 AM
Lol. No problem. I would like dome when you can please. I'm modifying my pedals as well so I don't have to go all the way to the floor. I love my marauder but I need it just right...

Oh yeah, and if you're going to go the clutch cable route, you better reinforce your firewall. Ask me how I know...:depress::depress:

Dude
08-27-2014, 09:47 AM
Its all done and driving. I welded a piece of 1/8" thick angle to it.

svtrichie
08-27-2014, 10:16 AM
Put that procharger on it, it will make up for the uncomfortable driving position

Dude
08-27-2014, 11:26 AM
Lol. I should. 500 rwhp will make almost anything better to drive.

Holy Schnit Bob. Thats a lot going on there.

All stock 2012 GT500. Just shortened the three supporting arms down an 1 1/4" IIRC, and a 3" shifter extension cut down to about 2". Pretty simple stuffs. I shift all day long resting my arm on the counsel using a finger and a thumb. :D

No regrets here.

K. I'm getting another tune for it today and I'm going to make the clutch pedal a little longer. (I think I cut too much off while making it) to try Ang give me more leverage. If I do sell. It will be everything to install in a marauder/crown Vic.

So being cable you also removed the electric pedals right? You should just buy a hydraulic conversion kit and carry on.

Also I forgot to mention and SAAAC will agree that your rear end is now on borrowed time. I literally crushed my crush washer on the street with street tires launching right after my conversion. Exploded my new 4.30's and had to replace all my bearings and seals once again as well.. I dropped to 4.10's for a little more pinion girth, added a solid spacer kit, stud kit, and a girdle a year ago and it's still holding up flawlessly. It's been a year since any issues actually and I am certainly not easy on her.
