I'm wondering at what speed is a good speed to get under boost/WOT? I was going to make a unofficial pass at the track last nite until someone messed up the track. I left. On the way home I was on the interstate, OD off, running about 50. I floored it and it kicked down and I got out of it. What's the best strategy for this? Thanks in advance.

I'm not boosted, yet, but I was wondering the same thing... Especially, without totally blowing off the tires...:burnout:

Sticky tires
Last yellow
Stab it
Hold the **** on and ride it out.
That's my strategy.

1. Mash pedal to the floor.
2. Hold on.
3. Make steering corrections while pedal is mashed to the floor.
4. Go like h.e.l.l, smile, grin, piss yourself, laugh and repeat.

I'm still trying to see what's the best speed to run from a roll. I think I remember reading that downshifting under boost wasn't good. So I'm guessing a roll on will not be in my future. I'm going to get some nitto 265/50's soon. Maybe they will hold fairly descent from a dead stop.

At about 25 MPH mine drops to 1st and it can get kinda crazy especially in cool air...........lots of variables so there probably won't be a simple answer!!:shake:
Be careful especially if it's a little wet!!

I shaved 4 tenths by having it around 1800 rpms and mashing it at the last yellow compared to just wot at the last yellow. Of course with slicks and a centri setup so not as much torque as you roots fellas. Every car is different just see what works!

Isn't that bad on the tranny to down shift like that under boost?

Anything under 40Mph on my goes straight to 1st at WOT. It gets a little exciting at that point. Mine will light the Nitto 555's (295/45's) at WOT in 1,2 or 3, sideways at 85 is not any fun. Depending on your power and tune, would be how I would make my tire choice selection.
And, my trans, driveshaft and rear end are all upgraded, but all are subject to go boom at any time, power is fun, power is destructive too.

I just thought I could ask Jeff what speed he's at when he goes WOT on the dyno
Just don't downshift out of OD at WOT.
Everything else is ok.
