Grinding or Rubbing noise on startup

Recently every once in awhile when I go to start oup the marauder ill get a sort of rubbing noise or a grind, doesnt sound like metal on metal not really sure how to explain it but its a grind.. It doesnt happen all the time just sometimes, I honestly have no clue wtf it is..

As soon as the Key is turned and the engine fires up it makes the noise and goes away, its very quick and isnt prolonged..

also been hearing some gurgling after a heavy rainstorm while driving the car like theres water in the exhaust or something

anyone have any clue as to what these problems could be?

Sometimes the starter can make oddball noises when releasing...I've heard others tell of this, and every once in a while Mary's car does it. Doesn't necessarily mean anything ominous.

As to the gurgling, make sure the cowl drains are clear. You have to remove the covers to the windshield-wiper area...I think there's a write-up on here somewhere.
