So I should be getting my car back from the bodyshop pretty soon. Some of you may remember my thread about my MM being vandalized & then some dumbass nailing my left frt wheel. Between her insurance & my full coverage, I got my baby completely repainted. Now I'm more worried about the paint than ever. I've never had a car with nice paint, so maintenance is new to me. Should I invest in a car cover? I know I need to keep it really clean & treated so that the paint will be protected. A customer here has a 2003 Focus with original paint that looks amazing. He said he uses a car cover from Auto Chic & waxes it 2x a year. Anyone have any experience with this company? Thanks guys. Mike

I use the factory one for my Marauder. But I have used Coverking for my other car. Not happy with it. Seems like a cover for the masses and not for real enthusiasts. I was thinking about trying Covercraft since they put logo's on the cover.

THAT"S what I'm looking for! Soft on the paint yet UV protection. Think I'm gonna give these guys a call. Thanks!

Good luck. pretty high for a car cover to me but at least they offer the logo to your liking.

Logo no biggie for me. Just want something soft that won't damage the clearcoat, but also offers UV protection. Have you used this one? Or anyone else out there? Thanks

Check with your painter, not sure how soon after fresh full paint job a cover should be used.

If car is parked outside are you going to clean it each time before installing a cover?

That's what I was thinking.
Your car cover options are pretty wide.
I have a few from Covercraft through auto anything dot com
Look at the options, read what they have to offer and choose from there.
My favorite is canvas made of fabric called Sunbrella.
Beware of the NOAH covers, they can cause micro marring.

Been using one since 2004 with no issues what so ever.

Interesting, I put a new one on my MM and the first time on and off I could see the marks it left, mainly where the elastic goes over the bumpers.
I had to polish them out.

A couple ideas as echoed above and below:
With fresh paint, I too wait to WAX and would not cover until well after the "cure" time. maybe twice as long as they say.
WAX is your only friend. A black car needs wax + wax + wax + wax. Even micro towels will leave micro scratches in black paint that doesn't have a solid few coats of wax and sealer.
Before covering a car, the car must be clean--every time. If you cover a dirty car, the inside of the cover will be dirty. Some people use a "magic wand" type static hand brooms to lightly get light dust and particulate off.
Inside car covers are the best and the softest and are washable! I cover my cars even inside the garage
Outside car covers say that their insides are soft--but they are not. And as mentioned above, Dust will get underneath, and with any wind, viola! scratches.
I would almost recommend two covers, and soft inside one, and one outside water protectant UV shell.
This way you can easily wash the inside cover, and use each independent or in conjunction of each other.
I admit though, I am Severely anal about paint, and can name and describe every nick and scratch, and eVeryone above helped me through my black car crisis last summer when I nearly melted after scratching up my car with microfiber towells.
