Hey everyone,
My A/C is is blowing from HIGh to LOW randomly, right now it always stays on high.

Prior this issue, I had the A/C unit control fixed because it wouldn't operate the direction to blow through the vents, only the dash board.

Any ideas on what or how to fix this issue?

Im not sure, but If I had to guess, I'd look to the cabin temp sensor as the culprit.
Its located to the side of the EATC behind the small cutouts in the dash trim IIRC.

EATC= AC control unit (as you described it)

On the dash trim where there is a clock on the 300A's, there is an opening with slats. Behind it is the cabin temp sensor. Just pull on the dash trim and it will pop off, allowing you access to the sensor.

Problem could also be the BMSC...Blower Motor Speed Control module. Located in the engine compartment in the evaporator housing behind the engine. Next time it happens, tap the BMSC with a screwdriver or similar tool.

I had both issues: would not change direction of airflow and fan speed would not respond properly to the fan control and would speed up and slow down randomly.

Replaced blower resistor thinggie under the hood: was 44 dollars at AZ and replaced the o-rings in the EATC with these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FN0WYG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00? ie=UTF8&psc=1 007 Silicone O-Ring, 70A Durometer, Red, 5/32" ID, 9/32" OD, 1/16" Width (Pack of 100)

now works like new.

Good luck with that BMSC from AZ. Save your receipt so you can get a refund when it fails.
I bought one from AZ and it lasted about 4 months and it died. I fixed the factory unit and put it back in.

Same with the Dorman Blend Door Actuator. Craps out after a few months, then you have to do the job again. All for not wanting to spend about $75.00 on a genuine Ford part.

I didn't know that about the AZ part. I do have the receipt so I'll wait and see. Part seemed pretty much identical down to the made in Mexico imprint.
