Hey! I have a ported box my son left for me. It is setup for 2 10" subs, which I happened to have laying around. ;) However, these subs are 4 ohm single voice coil. I have a Alpine 2 channel amp I am using from my parts supply as well. It's not super powerful, but, its a 90x2 max and a 240x1 max (bridged), all 4 ohms. I prefer to hook it up bridged so I can use the extra 15 watts per channel RMS(since the amp is a little too small for the 200 watt speakers. But I am not trying to rock my ears out of my head either). Anyway, I searched the web, but can't find the diagram I am looking for. The bridged setup would also have to be 4 ohms per the amp. So, 2 singe voice coil 10" subs, 4 ohms each, into a bridged 240 watt (max) 4 ohm amp.

I know I can just hook up each sub to each channel on the amp. That would yield me 50 watts RMS to each sub. If I do it "bridged", then it should be 65 watts RMS continuous (probably won't be able to tell, but whatever...lol).

If u wire them in parallel u will be at 2ohm bridged, series will give u 8ohm bridged. The amp say only 4ohm bridged. If it's a quality amp u may can get by on 2ohm bridge just don't push it to hard

Just run each sub to each channel or buy a new amp that is 2 ohm stable.

After looking around, it seems like most amps like 2 ohms. Usually gives more power. I only have the box, which shows only 4 ohm statistics like mentioned in the opening post.

That's easy for you to say, you're already Eaton Swapped! ;) :burnout: I am still trying to save my extra dough for my swap! It would definitely be easier to buy the right stuff! :depress:

Just trying to maximize what I can from what I got, if I can... .

Run each channel then. You will lose some output but it will be safe.

Yes. Eaton ftw. No further discussion necessary.

Totally off topic, but, how does the car drive now in everyday driving? Is there much difference with the eaton on board in everyday driving?
