O/D off, then ON at high speed.

I searched on the net for the O/D band and it's weakens and I know it's not good to hammer at O/D on. So my question is I always WOT with O/D off but can I do WOT in O/D off at high speed in 6000 rpms+ then push the button to switch the O/D on on WOT ? is this safe !!?

I would not suggest this... had a major dun da dun moment and I did this... 130mph, WOT and I let it shift to 4th...

No WOT in O/D is my suggestion

You can get all the way to 120 - 125 mph before 6,000 rpm in 3rd if i remember from running at the track.

Totally stock, speed limiter is at the same speed at max RPM in 3rd (6K RPM @ 130MPH)

So without a tune, its your not really ever going to shift into OD while WOT unless you hit speed limiter.

Now if your talking about going WOT in 3rd, then letting off with OD on, then yeah that's not the greatest thing in the world - instant transmission death is not likely.

Just as a general rule, if your going fast and WOT playing around, just hit OD off - there is no reason for it. You are correct that it is just there to save gas.

Yes 130-140 is possible with 3:55 gears with OD off. If you need more speed and run out of gear, let off the gas and click the button.
