Anyone mind telling how to change out the oil dipstick with a new chrome one. There is nothing wrong with the one there I just think a chrome one would look better.
I already removed the bolt that holds the clamp attached to it. Not sure now if it just pulls out or what and when I put the new one in what kind of seal or sealer should go with it.
As always, any help would be greatly appreciated.
There is 1 nut and one bolt. And you will have to bend it to clear the exhaust manifold.

I installed a Lokar unit.
Hey gang he's working on a '63. That's why it's in the classic section.
Once you remove the bolt/nut, the tube should pull straight out of the hole. Might take a little tugging, or not. There's no seal, just the tube and the dip stick. Do you have the chrome replacement already?

OP has a 1960's era Marauder, not a 03-04 one. dipstick might be slightly different.

What he said.
And be prepared for the chrome one to leak. They all do....

Hey kirk and marty, yes I have a replacement i got from dearborn that doesnt look exactly the same but I think it will work. Thing is Im not sure I want to replace it if its going to leak oil.
Ive talked to some other people and they say the same, no kind of sealer or anything just pushes in but a real tight fit.
What do the two of you think, put it in or just clean up the one thats there and leave well enough alone? I do think it would look better with a chrome one though...

I love how some of the little girls on this site like to insult people they dont know and would NEVER have the balls to say half the things they say to that persons face.
Thats not just this site though, these internet gangsters are everywhere these days. Just a thought I had after one of these idiots referred to me as OP.
And on that note everyone have a terrific night!

Is funny
Good morning
Matt, personally, I would leave the original in unless there's something wrong with it. But, to each his own.

Matt, That post was from mark. Mark is good people and one of "us."
Do not be offended OP -s shorthand for Original Poster, or something like that, and not:

Thanks Marty!, Matt, I certainly wasn't referring OP as anything but what it means on forum speak....OP = Original Poster. This Classic marauder category doesn't alwasy register with us since so many of us talk the 03-04 marauders, so was just trying to clear it up as others did just before my post that you had a original 60's era marauder.

Matt, were you picked on as a child? :pOP, not opie. This thread made me laugh! I vote for leaving well enough alone, leaking fluids suck, maybe painting the original dip stick tube would be a better option?

my apologies, I misunderstood. And I really do appreciate all the free help even though it may not seem like it at the moment. Again, I was out of line and I really am sorry. My bad.

No worries from me, Matt. It's all good!..I know it can be difficult on forums to know every shortcut and forum lingo, text lingo that is used. We're all here for the same thing, gain some knowledge, get some help, learn some stuff and have some fun modding our Marauders.
