Hello all,

I have long been a fan of the Marauder, but the stars have just now aligned for me to own one of my own. On Wednesday I took procession of a 2003 black Marauder. I am not sure of the 300A vs 300B designation, I'm too new at this stuff.

I will have many questions soon I am sure, but for now I will be reading up and using the search button quite a bit.

My first two that I want/need is to replace the stereo with a more modern GPS-Bluetooth etc, etc unit. The other is the rear spoiler on the trunk. I love the look. On that I wonder, is there a huge difference between all the ones I see on Ebay? Is that the best place to shop for one, or somewhere else??

I am a die hard hot rodder and currently have a 32 Ford hi boy coupe, a 70 F100, and a 72 Ford Maverick pro touring build. If anyone has interest I will share my stuff, just let me know where to do it and if anyone really cares.

Thanks all,

Glenn

^^good move.
Aiming for Naples, myself;)

Welcome Glenn!! You are in the right place for Marauder anything. Most any question you think of has been threaded, just use some keyword searchs and read up. Stereo stuff, the spoiler - you'll find tons of leads in the right sections = stereo, body/paint etc.
Pictures are required and what part of Ct.?

Thanks for the welcome guys!

I live in West Suffield, CT. By trade I am a technical rep. for a very large auto paint distributer. I am the guy that goes around to area body shops doing demo's, problem solving, in shop training on all the latest and greatest products in the ever evolving paint world. I spent the majority of my career in the shops as a technician doing general collision as well as rest and custom work.

I also have a shop in my back yard that I do my own work out of, as well as some work for others. It's not really a business, but I do get paid to do some side work for people. I have a Facebook page here that if anyone cares to see the nuts and bolts of what I do they can check out the pictures. This page isn't really set up for solicitation, but more of a way to share with friends and family that are now wide spread around the globe.

In any case, here are a few pics of my new ride, the 2003 Marauder I just got Wednesday. It is in great shape, with 110k for mileage. Front bumper has been painted, but otherwise the car is a virgin. As I said in my introduction, I have always wanted one, so I am happy with what I found. This will be my daily driver.

Here is my 32 Ford 3 window coupe.Just this past winter I tore it down and made a bunch of repairs and then repainted the entire car and added the flames. This car is a ton of fun!

This one is my 70 Ford F100 pick up. Powered by a 460 and a C6 trans. I bought this one just the way you see it. For the price I could't come close to building this truck as it sits.

And lastly, my mild version of a pro touring 1972 Ford Maverick. Way too many custom touches to list here briefly. I plan on having this one painted this winter, then on the road some time next year. On the car the only things I will not have done myself are the rebuilt transmission and the upholstery. Everything else is all me.

Toys are awesome!!! You can get a spoiler from Sparta Performance here in the vendor section. He is not far in upstate NY I think. It will need paint but you can probably handle that pretty easy.

I'm pretty close, maybe an hour. I'd love to drive up and check out your cars and shop - could use a hand with my projects now and then.
Welcome in, and you found the nicest car forum on the intenet.

PS - was the Marauder on Craigslist in Tolland a few weeks ago? I amost went to see it and finances changed. Description fits your car....

Thanks to all for the welcomes.

Would love to have you up some time. Where are you from?

Yes, this is the same car that was in Tolland. I never saw it on CL, I ran into it at Mark's cruise night last Monday.

I am not sure of the 300A vs 300B designation,From your pic, I'd say you have a 300A. Looks like you have the same size tires on the rear as the front and that only works on 300As, due to the absence of traction control.

BTW, here (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=31102) are the differences.

It killed me to see the CL ad (good price) then not be able to afford another MM as a daily driver. I talked to him on the phone, sounded like a solid deal. Congrats on a local find!
I looked at one local listed on this site, another great value, but more money. It's still for sale. You bought while the market is soft for sellers = winning!
My car will have work done in a week or so, then we could meet, sounds cool. In person I can fill you in the small amount I've learned since Nov 2013 purchase of my car, and the following Eaton and suspension upgrades to me car. Trolling this forum, Motorcity Marauders, and the svt forums has been super informative.
enjoy and talk to you soon,
Geoff

nice link to differences. I knew to check for the fuel door remote.
Mine is an 04 300A, no map pockets, no remote fuel door, mini spare - all sucky. But heated seats and clock in radio are a win to me. Plus improved tranny.
I'd like the few deleted 03 items on my 04 to HAVE IT ALL!!:D

How much did he have it for on CL??

How much did he have it for on CL??
As I recall, $7500 - I know I was hoping to get it down to $7k due to a few weeks being listed. In fact, the first 2 weeks it said 2002 Marauder, then he corrected the year.
Never seeing it in person, I won't comment on the actual conditional value.

I was just talking to my mechanic friend with a Factory 5 based Cobra he built, saw the Marauder, for sale, at Marks with a guy talking with him awhile. Probably witnessed you buying it! Small world.

I have thought the rear was up too high as well. I think the front is just the picture, I'll post more at some point. Not sure off the head of tire size, and it's poring out now so gonna have to wait.

So the rears are 255/45/18's. What are they supposed to be? How can I get the rear down a bit??

245/55/18 stock = 28.61" tall, 255/45/18 = 27.04" tall
Putting the stock size might fill the wheel well a bit more, not appear as raised? Or your ride height is up by adjustment in some way?
See if the rear of rocker panel is further from the ground than front of rocker panel = jacked up...still have the air system in tact?
