What type of grease is recommended for the Sparta Control Arms? After installing a year and half ago, I'm getting a squeak when I go over speed bumps. The installation kit came with a red grease that I applied, but not sure what it's called. These are Polyurethane/Delrin bushings.

Use a full synthetic grease like Amsoil chassis/suspension grease.

Picked up some Mobil 1 synthetic grease and applied liberally to my control arms and watts link. Took for a test drive and squeak is gone.

IMHO... you should only use synthetic grease on non-rubber bushings.

I grease mine, front & rear sway bars, upper & lower rear control arms and Watts link twice a year.

I'm going to start making this a habit now. I bought a large container of Mobil 1 synthetic grease so this will last awhile. I will lube up everything when I oil my cold air filter (once in spring, once in the fall)

How are you greasing them? I get mine in a tube for a grease gun.

No grease fittings?

Not on the sparta control arms, no.

Standard on the Metco arms and Watts link. Had to add to the Addco sway bars.

New henious arms have fittings as well, earlier ones did not.

Bump:

I recently installed QA1 single adjustable coil overs in the front and shocks in the rear. I'm sitting a little lower now, but I still have the rake I like. I'm noticing significant grunts, squeaks and groans over every dip, bump and snag in the road.

My question is: by altering the ride height of my car, will all my suspension parts need to be regreased? I guess I with the height adjustment I may have altered the dynamics. But wanted to see if anyone had any insight

Start by checking the lower Qa1 shock mounts. Also check the front coil springs w/out jacking the car up.

Thanks Krytin

When you say check the mounts and the coil springs, is there anything in particular I should be looking. I don't think anything is out of alignment, just getting groans and squeaks. Is there a way to grease the mounts and coils?

How long have you had everything installed? May just be everything needing to seat itself properly. You could try a silicone spray lube and just go nuts with it on every rubber bushing/grommet/mount that you see.

Look for the rubber/poly mounts to have failed. They will split/deform at the bolt. The top 4/5 coils of the front springs will be "stacked". The coils will be compressed/touching while the car is sitting at rest.

If the rear is as low as the front you're probably riding on the bump stops. Some members here have had problems with Naake QA1, I don't have experience with them.

Check this thread (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=88840)for part numbers, possible issues with sway bar binding, end link length, and shorter rear bump stops.

He is not actually that low.

He was only that low directly after installed before we did any height adjustment. He is now just a touch lower than stock.

Naake used a plastic shock eyelet to support the weight of a Marauder
