I'm a little behind in my automotive technology, but I'm catching up. I found this site just this morning, and I wish I had found it a month ago. Interesting stuff here, spells things out with plain talk and sound suggestions. You guys with sub-woofer issues might want to peek too.

Mr. French is right on with his rotating dynamics assesment. The procedure he uses is very similar to that used to balance rotating process equipment (and is sometimes the only way to do it). So Ford matches parts based on the measured runout...learn something everyday. Might be worth it to pay someone to do this while on a chassis dyno ( alot less work ) with the dial indicator, hose clamp and weights. Make a run get your dyno plot, as you are waiting move the weights as needed, do you next run, repeat. Dyno multitasking!

I got an e-mail reply from "Todd," the guy who created the web site I've pointed to here. I would like to post my original question to him and his reply here, but it's just too much for posting, IMHO.
My question and his reply is available, without edit, to everyone here, just e-me at SergntMac@aol.com and I'll get that back to you ASAP. Full text, no editing...promise.
