I was going to switch to 18x9 wheels in the rear. Any reasons why I shouldn't do that? And by that, I mean anything would damage the car or cause it any problems. Thanks for any input!

Most go to 9.5" rears. Some have had to watch rear shock tube rubbing. Very common mod, do a search and see :D

assuming your going to run a reasonable size tire and the wheel will have the correct level of offset you should be fine.

Offset is what you need to check.
