The pinstrips on my car are starting to chip so im going to take them off. Whats the best way to do this without damaging anything underneath. Im thinking take a hair dryerand heat up the stripes until it starts to curl then just peel it off. LMK. Thanks.

That should work. Or, tell Mr. Steinbrenner you want out....

3M makes a tool/wheel that you put in your drill. It takes tape stripes clean off without damage to the paint. Your local automotive paint supply shop should be able to get it for you.

I've used Wendex to remove old bumper stickers before, but I don't know what that will do to the finish.

Will it work on the bumper letter inserts too? I'm changing over to the SSinserts.

Last time I talked to Marty's fiance...she was complaining about removing "racing strips" that Marty "creates"...

I don't think she was talking about cars, though. :depress:

Try Goo Gone

Blowing his nose, rather than picking is easier than Goo Gone.

Oh! Nevermind. . .

I used a sunlamp carefully to remove a wide tape stripe from a 1968 Mercury Cyclone GT back in the early 70's.

Just need to be careful not to get the surface too hot.

Wish I'd held on to that car.
