My mechanic at the Roesch Ford dealership found a knock in cylinder 7, and its putting out 8% less power or has 8% less compression or something than the others, says I should save my money on an official diagnosis and just go with a rebuild as it's most likely a piston failing. Anyone know someone in the Chicago land area who can do a rebuild for a good price? I already have the original out and collecting dust from when it died, and as far as I know its still sitting outside my buddies garage. If I'm gentle with this one, I hope to drive it while the original is being rebuilt, and when it's done just swap out the newly rebuilt first engine with the knocking replacement engine currently in the car. Thanks!

Sincerely,
Totally broke and f****d

LMAO, I can't go back to my idiot mechanic either, that's why I'm asking around!

You live the next town up from Bolingbrook and didn't come to MV12????

I used Coil Racing engines in McHenry.
There was no special deal , except I believe in integrity & honesty.
So far I have not been disappointed with them, but maybe I should wait to see if it runs before giving a referral.
If you are looking to do it on the cheap, I have a 1996 Mark 8 donor car with 92K that is a runner.
It will need to be towed because the brakes are bad.

I came! My car didn't. I was the one sitting in back by the keg:beer: wearing the Roesch Ford shirt! That was the day my car decided to lock into 2nd gear, again, and I managed to get it to my shop doing 3K RPMs at about 40 MPH. The mechanic found a Knock Sensor that was fried from not being properly harnessed from the engine swap. Also another bundle of wires was inspected, still not sure if that was replaced or not, haven't gotten the bill yet.

Ah. I don't drink, so I wasn't paying attention to the keg.
Hope you had a good time in spite of all your car troubles...

Yeah, it was great and I had all the speakers sign the black plastic shield from my car that goes on top of the radiator, not sure what it's called. But since I couldn't get them to come to the car, I brought the car part to them! Very cool hearing them talk about the development. Wish we had time to see their PowerPoint.

You suck! I knew I should've stayed, or at least came back. I want mine signed now!
