I've made these for a couple years for mustangs and cobras using the aluminum 4.6 blocks. Alot of guys had problems with the stock 6mm breaking and letting the timing chain have slack which lead to jumping time. The replacement is a larger 8mm threaded section of the bolt. Most of the failures I see are in manual trans cars but have seen a few fail in high hp autos.

Good upgrade for the maruaders to if your doing a new shortblock build.

Very nice, those look real sturdy.
The Teksid blocks use flippers that have bearings in them, instead of just studs that fit into holes.

The very early teksid used those. Not sure what year they swapped to the studs. I know the 96 up cobra had the studs

^^^ The early flipper on the left has a bearing pressed into it, and the bearing rides on and mounts to the engine with a metric grade 8 bolt, instead of the flipper on the right, which simply has a hole cast into the body of the flipper, and rides on a pin.

^^^ same parts, '94 on left. '04 on right. Bolt and pin are installed in the arms in this pic. BTW I was able to swap the brand new Delrin inserts over to my early flippers, it was a direct swap. So I was able to retain the (IMHO) superior bearing design, yet get brand new wear material since Ford they wasn't making any more '94 flippers. No pin swap needed either.

I know the colors look weird but the pics weren't too great so in order to get the differences to show up I had to mess with the pics a little. Sorry about that lol.

Some of us engine geeks love this type of stuff, mgaddis I hope this is what you were looking for.

Yeap thats what I was curious to see. Not sure why ford moved away from that design. Guess the bean counters up top didn't care for the price

$58 shipped. My buddy at works owns the marauder. We are putting the 03 cobra engine in it now. Been doing some research on here
