I told you guys I was putting my MM in the body shop for a few dents, bumper repair and paint...How long would you expect that to take in a busy shop with about 5 workers???He's had it a month now and I'm getting antsy....I've checked on it a few times and each time a little more had been done. He's given me two completion dates and gone over both....I'm gonna check on it again today...It was supposed to be ready last Sat....

This is true. However, it is a week overdue from the original delivery estimate. I'd press for a better update on when it is now expected.

depending on if they are replacing body parts, I would give them a month tops.

I worked in a large Ford dealer's body shop for 4 years. I lasted through 2 managers, as their assistant. Generally speaking, when a shop is busy, they will put off any customer who lets them. It is a tough job, and good managers need to be salesmen, ambassadors, and good personal managers of the crew.

It took about 6 weeks for mine to get done but I was able to do most of the body work myself. Keep in mind that was a shop with only two people so it could have taken much longer I am sure. Show up in person and just ask for a no BS completion date. I wouldn't push too hard as its better to have a quality job done than a rush for completion.

Many independent body shops ,will give the" Quick Jobs" priority, the time consuming jobs get the back BURNER, and if you put a ton of money down on a major job and a lot of quick fixes come in, GUESS what Happens :violin:../at any Rate ,do Follow up . Hope you get the MM back soon.

Insurance work will always take a priority over customer pay jobs. Especially when they know you have another car to drive and are not in a rental. The insurance companies hold them to a certain in and out date. If they go over that they get penalized in a lot of cases. Also, insurance jobs are quick turnover $$. They will use your type of job as a fill in for when they have spare time. They don;t call it "paint pergatory" for nothing.
Good luck.

I finally got my MM back...Looks great..I had the rear trunk emblem removed. He repainted the tail lights...He painted the whole car except the doors. After buffing up the whole car,it all looks like new.....There is some orange peel..I'm going to try CARPRO denim and velvet buffing pads..They are supposed to be like wet sanding...The denim is like 3000 grit and the velvet is like 2000 grit.Used with Meguires M100.Anyone used these yet???
