Does any one know where or who can make decals for a model? I have a wild idea but I want to use Mercury Marauder emblems :D It may be a long shot lol.

My son used to do this as a "hobby" in 2004-2006. He would customize police and fire department 1/18 scale vehicles and would paint them and make the decals himself on a printer using special decal paper. He would personalize each vehicle for local law enforcement officers using digital pictures of the car to reflect all of their graphics and numbering. They looked great and he received lots of compliments and repeat/referral orders from his customers.

What started as a hobby gradually turned into a small business where he had display space in a store and would take custom orders. He did lots of cars, SUVs and Trucks for Prince William County, Fairfax County, Alexandria and Arlington Counties, Manassas PD, DC Metro, Virginia and Maryland State Police, Prince William and Fairfax Fire Departments. Gradually, he got out of the business and just had so many orders that it wasn't fun anymore. He stopped taking orders and finished up his backorders. Don't think he has done anything in the past 7-8 years. I guess he just ran that hobby into the ground after making nearly 100 custom models.

I have a 1/18 Marauder model with decals using my personalized license plate. Don't know if you remember it on my back window deck at Carlisle. Some of the guys in CAM have seen and bought a couple of his models.

BOTTOMLINE is that you can do this yourself with a digital camera, decal paper and a printer right from your home computer. You need a lot of patience to do this properly. From what I understand, getting the decal to the exact proper size to apply to the vehicle was the trick. He would also do the car by separate photos of the side panels, doors, front, rear, hood and roof and had to match the sizes exactly.

Can't find a reference to a "real" 1/18th scale MM anywhere, other than the Yang Ming 60's versions. Where did you find a 2003-4 1/18th scale Marauder model?

It is a Marauder clone using a modified Crown Vic base model. My son bought me a Blue and a Black one off E-Bay for Christmas 2003 just after I bought my car. He got the pair for $120. I kept the Blue and he has the Black MM. Some guy modified the CV with a Marauder exhaust, wheels and the rear bumper letters. It was close enough for me.

BTW ... FreddieH has one too in Silver Birch. I believe his is also a 1/18 CV clone.
