Funky problems have been occurring.

The volume control will work and sometimes it will not. At one point, anytime I touched the volume control on the steering wheel the volume would increase, even if I pushed the down position.

Sometimes the horn will not work. Other times the horn will work and the radio controls on the steering wheel will not.

Cruise control hasn't worked in months, but is not important.

I was thinking of a lose connection until the radio would turn up no matter what arrow I pushed for sound adjustment.

What do I need to replace now?

This problem comes and goes very often.

Thank you in advance.

Could be bad buttons.

The cruise in my DD was very intermittent and funky until I took the buttons apart and cleaned them with MAF cleaner. It works much better now, but the switch modules still need to be replaced.

I'll send you the test procedure for the cruise so you can at least narrow down the problem and decide if you want to pursue repair. All you need is a simple volt-ohm meter.

How do I take the buttons off of the steering wheel?

I have no idea, but I know how to get the wheel and air bag off.

They just pry out.

...and I haven't forgotten the test instructions, just haven't had time to copy them from the service manual...will do so tonight.

I replaced my steering wheel switches with new OEM ones I found on ebay. Expensive, but worth every penny. I was tired of looking at worn out, sticky buttons.
