I installed the Wilwoods Plus 1: The 13" kit...(had them installed by a professional)..back in 2008... Well it's been 34,000 miles and they are warped... pads look great...?
Rear Factory discs are warped too...
So, I talked with TCE... they are sending me new discs, new pads and misc. hardware...for the front Wilwood.
Have many of our Wilwoods of similar size warped ...?
I believe I can have the discs ground, but it's a more specialized process than most brake places do. I'll have to find out more about that... any thoughts..?
All info is most welcome... :bows:thanks, Architect

Don't know the mileage. But it's been 3+ years of easy and lots of hard braking. Look and feel like new.

Sent from The White House on taxpayers dimes.

DTR + 4.10's + Eaton swap = Wreeeeeeeeeeeeeeedom

buy new rotors from Todd. Keep the old ones to use on the road course where you can't hurt them any more.

Mine warped second time I drove with them.
Installed them, took them out and broke them in, left next day for 900 mile trip. First 400 through hurricane Sandy as it dumped many inches of rain on the Florida Turnpike. I think the first fuel stop they were done.
Broke my heart but I had to have them turned (Mo's) they have been fine since.

Find a shop with a pro cut on car brake lathe. Most of the Ford dealers have them. Get the rotor resurface on the car and you will be in good shap with the install of new pads. Price is around $100 per axle but you need to check with the shop.

I have had a lot of problems with my 14"/13" 4 wheel kit, mostly with pad transfer on the front rotors. My third set of pads (second set of rotors) and multiple resurfacings later, I have found the Carbotech XP8 pads don't seem to exhibit the pad transfer problems.

Unfortunately these pads have an even higher wear rate than Wilwood BP10 and Porterfield R4S, and they wear the rotors significantly as well. I suspect they will be done at about 7K miles, which is a pretty short life span! But at least they don't pulsate. The previous two sets of pads only made it to 9 - 10K on the front.

In my opinion, the problem with the Wilwood kit is the pads and calipers in the front are just too small for graceful wear. Todd has offered to make a larger caliper kit (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=95368), although wheel fitment issues may apply. I intend to go this route very soon and will report back with results.
