I have been gone for a while thanks to an insane work schedule, but I return with exciting news!
While I was away I picked up a TKO500 and most of the necessary bits to get it in my CV! I have done a ton of digging on CV.net and I am relatively well sorted... I think.
This weekend I am taking my pedals to my local speedshop for sandblasting, fabrication, paint and reassembly. Probably the most involved part of the process. Also going to reinforce the firewall where it mounts while I'm at it!
It's looking like next weekend will be the start of the teardown...
I am a little nervous as I have never has a chance to talk to someone who has done this, it seems like they are all on CV.net, and still no luck getting an account on that front. Anyone on here have experience or insight on this swap? Any input at all would be appreciated!

Thank you, T56 is close enough specs to mine from what I've read. I'll be in touch!
Justbob's 6060 is a whole different animal from the TKO, thanks for the contact Bob!

Do you know if the MGM and Marauder crossmembers are the same? Not sure which one my CV would have. Either way, what did you have to do to get the crossmember ready to accept the trans?
Also outside of the yoke, did you modify your driveshaft?
Thanks!

Any threads, or pics for your swaps? Seems an easy job for you since you've done both the Marauder and Marquis. :burnout:

Tomorrow I am headed out to MPS Speedshop and I will be trying my hand at sandblasting for the first time. After that I will be getting the GT pedals cut down then doing clamped-together test fits in the car. I will be leaving the welding to Brian, the pro at MPS as I want these to be STRONG! Not a good place for me to practice amateur welding. We will also be getting the firewall reinforcement in place as I've read that can sometimes be an issue.
The 04 CVPI pedal assy. I pulled out at the junkyard...

Got some pictures of the pedal assembly coming together.
Remember the rusty pedals from before? I spent some time at the sandblaster...

I am trying to get relatively close to how my old Bullitt's pedals were set up, as I loved the way those felt. Thanks to my brother and some handy reference from his Mach 1 I think I can get pretty close.
Mocked it all up in the car to measure where to modify the pedal arms.
http://lowtechglobal.com/images/hostedphotos/pedals5.jpg
Clutch arm will be shortened, brake pad will be replaced with a narrow one from the GT pedals, and I think I will be raising the gas pedal up to level it with the brake. I want to be able to heel+toe again!
Last of all, the first batch of the clutch bits arrived, now I am waiting on the flywheel and bellhousing bolts, then its time to start the big teardown...
More to come, sorry for the book, I will try and break it up a bit more if I can remember to!

Looks good. It's amazing how pedals can be built 100 different ways. It's nice to see other set ups.
Here's mine. I wanted to retain the adjustable pedals even though I haven't touched it since '04.. 10,000 miles so far. [emoji106]

Very cool, and most importantly it looks very strong.
I think what excites me most any this project is the opportunity to set the car up just how I like it. Massage out some of the "could be better" things around the car.

Holy crap I'm still alive! So much for my grand plans of writing up the build here as I went. My timeline was forced up by three months thanks to me moving on 12/31...
The good news? I DID IT! The car drives great, now I'm just in the minor button up phase to get it all back together and stock looking...
Pics and info will come soon, thank you all for your patience! Stay tuned, for real this time... I will be dumping LOTS of pictures and info here.

Thank you all, it was one hell of a push. Got the driveshaft going in for balancing this weekend, which should be one of the last mechanical issues with the car.
A customer of mine owns an upholstery shop (Ron's Upholstery if you're in the tampa bay area!) and is hooking me up with a custom leather shifter boot.
After that I have to convince the car it's fine, after having lobotomized it by pulling the trans. The check engine light is on and O/D light is blinking due to no signal.
Gotta figure out how to send the right signal from the old trans harness to tell the ecu that the trans temp is fine, that way my fan will stop running constantly.
Also need to fix the speed sensor, reads at about 50% right now. Mostly that affects my cruise control and active variable steering weight thingy (technical term)
Oh and a tach... I'd like one of those too.

When you get a tune have him leave the trans functions on, delete the eight trans codes from your dash you will have, remove the OD bulb, and simply adjust the speedo counts. There is no sense wasting any time on this yourself.
If you turn off the trans functions, your car will not go into open loop.
I completed every single last detail on mine immediately so I could enjoy it. Easiest part was the reverse, neutral safety, reverse lock out, and speed sensor wiring.

I agree with those being pretty easy tasks. I was really surprised at how straightforward it was. The tune is the tricky bit, I had to scramble to get the car mobile so I could have it gone by Jan 1st for the new folks moving in to my old place.
Did you go to a speedshop for your tune? If so how much did it cost? My dad and I tuned his truck using a usb to OBD II hookup. I forget the name if the software, but it gave full access to every facet of the cars tune. That's what I was thinking initially

N/A tunes are normally around $3-400 depending who you go to. Plus you'll need an Xcal.
Being forced induction I would never trust my own tune. In fact I'll probably be trailering mine from Chicago to Atlanta soon just for a tune for my new F1 blower. Small price to pay for something done right and no boom from trial and error.
Sounds like your dad used sniper or pro racer.

Sounds familiar, it probably was one of those. I was present for the pro tuning after he added the Magnacharger and nitrous setup to his LS2. When you're dealing with serious equipment, you're absolutely right about having it done professionally!
Mainly I need to be able to clear those codes and get the ecu to ignore them, then maybe bump the speed limiter higher down the road. The laptop one seemed super fancy, if I could get the features I'm looking for from a simpler unit I'd be happy. Do any of the handhelds do that?

They just store what you put on them and depending on what functions your tuner leaves unlocked is your only adjustments and they are only simple adjustments like shifting RPMS, idle RPM, tire RPM, ETC.

Found one! A friend of a friend at All American Streetcar Performance will be helping me out with a street tune to get the car behaving again.
On a side note, a friend of mine recently picked up a GoPro (at the same time as he picked up a '15 Mustang GT, but that's a whole other thing) and I should be able to get some video of it driving. :D

Just got the car back from AASCP and they did a killer job! Car has all of its power back, the fan is behaving, speedo reads right, check engine lights are gone, etc.
Very, VERY pleased with the service I got. If you're looking for a shop in the Tampa Bay area I would highly recommend them!
Shifter boot is being sewn up this week so I can finally close up my console and have it looking like a stock car again!
Still need to address the slight driveshaft vibration, but after that its all just cosmetic goodies!

Two words. Driveshaft Shop
There is now two of us (plus you) that had vibrations and they took awesome care of us.
I tried two local shops and one out of state before I finally bit the bullet and ordered a constant velocity style shaft. The vibrations that always led to a bent shaft and one exploding into two at the track in third are now GONE. Smooth sailing well into the triples.
My biggest hurdle was the fact that both the front and back are the same bolt pattern and no more slip yoke. The elevation of my trans was dead on to stock so I never thought it would be an issue. Sure enough every time I hit 80-90 I got a permanent vibration..

So the U-Joints on our shafts are permanently "phased" since the yokes are welded on each end??
