The high speed did not work for a few months and now it works. The delays and low speed work fine, but getting them on high speed would not happen. You adjust speed to high and nothing changes between high and low... as if you did nothing.

Recently it started working again.

I did not take anything apart yet, but I am assuming all connections are proper and this could be the motor again. Also, I should clean out the area where the doggy door is.

Any thoughts on the true issue?

Thanks!

Might be the multifunction switch.

First I'd make sure the cowl area is cleaned of debris and the motor and it's connections looks good.

Copy that. I was wondering if there was a common cause for this. I will check it all out.

The common cause is blocked drainage under the wiper motor. Water builds up and eventually seeps into the electronics causing shorts and other problems. Initially, it will dry out and return to normal or semi-normal function after a period of time; but it will fail completely eventually. Cleaning the cowl drain under the wiper motor is the first fix.

This problem is pretty much common to all Panthers including the Marauder, CV, Grand Marquis, and Town Car. It is a design defect that FORD elected not to correct.

My motor failed with virtually no notice over the span of a day; I couldn't believe the debris that was jammed in the cowl.

In Dom's case, though, I'm guessing it's the MFS.

Looks like I have work to do!

Clean the wiper area, O2, sensor and snow tires. A days work for me in the street.
