I got rear ended a few weeks ago and the body shop tells me that they can't find a usable rear bumper cover. The gall of those guys, telling me to just use a grand marquis bumper cover. I told them that surely there was a decent out there that maybe someone on the forums might sell them. Help me out guys! Thanks!

Also I've heard the aftermarket bumpers on like Ebay will work but your body guy may need to spend time trimming and futzing to get a decent fit.
Also try junkyards in your area. You might need to make your area a larger one though, couple hundred miles out.

The guy at the body shop said he has tried all the local junk yards. I searched ebay but I haven't located any rear bumper covers.

The first link looks good. But I've heard that these aftermarket bumpers don't have "Marauder" imprinted on them. Best to call the company first...

I have a good used one but shipping from Wa state might hurt. Maybe a last resort.

Well, Genuine Bumpers.com checked their inventory and are unable to find it. We are getting pretty desperate here. Merrill, shipping gray hound isn't too bad as long as you can protect it well/package it for transport. The body shop said they want to handle the purchase.
They are still pushing for a GM bumper. I really don't want to do that if possible. Also found out the "trunk finish panel" is busted and need one of those if you guy have one. Aren't they the same as a police interceptor?

Also, they tried Fordparts.com and were notified its unavailable.

Just remember, no company can legally reproduce the rear bumper with the Marauder lettering embossed in it.
We went through this years ago.
The pic shows it with Marauder, when in reality it does not have it.
Worth a shot though!

usually the ad has a disclaimer ' photo not actual part'
some of these totaled cars for $3500 will be worth it for a good rear bumper alone.
best of luck to OP.

Well, maybe someone can call them and ask. Those aftermarket ones, although hard to come by also, maybe some of them had the Marauder lettering before Ford forced them to stop?

Luckily there are places like gator glass customs that can make you a Marauder bumper from one of these chinese cheapos, I bet it wouldn't be cheap though.

A lot of the "aftermarket" suppliers for the rear bumper are actually supplying a refinished OEM bumper. I tried one of these several years ago and it arrived with a crease in the middle of it that would not come out. The body shop wound up stitching the tear in the original/damaged bumper w/wire and filling/sanding w/flexible epoxy repair compound. It has stayed in one piece and unless you get on your hands and knees and look under the bumper you can't see the repair. Spent over a month in the shop just trying to get the rear bumper sorted out!

The bumper finding skills you guys have are awesome.
Well, body shop called after I sent them all my leads. Masons Hotrods had one and it supposed to be in route next week. The trunk finish panel was busted too and they finally found one off a police car after I told them I thought there was a model that was interchangeable. I hope its correct.

The police car trunk panel is black plastic, not painted so it will need paint to match and the reverse lights will not be "tinted", can use nite shade to replicate.

More body shop bumper drama. They wound up not buy the one from Masons Hotrods because they said there was already damage and were sure that it would be worse when it got here. They ordered one from one of the used bumper retailers. They got it in and it was creased, repaired and not useable. Then they ordered a bumper from summit and it doesn't have the Marauder in it. They are wiling to wait a few days to see if I can get a used one in.
Another thing I was wondering, does anyone offer a domed emblem to install on the smooth unlettered bumpers that push out instead of in. Or even a polished billet emblem in the same size and font might be acceptable. Anyone have any ideas on that?

possible domed emblem from here..they are still individual letters and are designed to fit into the recessed cover letters, but an option or an airbrush artist

I have polished SS letters in gold if needed. They were made to go into the recessed letters.
