No, the housing is completely different. If you're going to look for a donor rear, get one out of a 2006 and newer CV or MGM, it will have 31 spline axles.

What he ^^^ said.
I have disassembled 2 rear axles in the boneyard from 2006+ cars for the axles.
However, my luck was extremely poor because they had been swapped out for an earlier diff with 28 splines.
FAIL

What would be the chances of that, vs. that all 06+ rears do not come with 31 splines?

'94 won't have the Watts link, control arm brackets are way different as are the shock mounts.

I just swapped out my rear today, not a terrible job, but a lift would make it easier. I would recommend checking your control arm bushings, these cars seem to eat upper control arm bushings.

What would be the pros and cons?. .. this is just temporary btw. The open is a 125 cheaper. Just need something a couple months until I have my rearend built back with 3.55L

I was going to remove rearend from 04 Grand marquis but I noticed it had like airbags where the two two springs go at on my marauder. Is there anyway I can still use this?

Why are there 2 springs on your Marauder?

X2??
It's the same regardless, air springs and coil springs use the same perch..And grand marquis did not come with a 3.27 UNLESS it was a LSE which is pretty darn rare. what does the diff tag say?

That's because somebody short cut a repair on your car, kind of like sticking a geared wrong junkyard rearend in.

Did you try car-part.com? There is a whole page of crown vic rear axles assemblies listed in GA, but I have no idea where the locations are in relation to Savannah and I only checked 2005 and up..there was one listed as a 2011 from a police car.

it will be acceptable, less expensive solution until you get the 3.55 posi built and installed.
do you have tuning ability to maintain speedometer accuracy during ratio changes?

Why a 3.27?
Why an open diff?

is your car a 98-02? if 03 or newer, the 99 won't fit.
not sure on bags fastening to the axle housing. Look, see if there is anything, or if the bags just sit on the perches. Probably nothing complicated.

It will not fit, it needs to be 2003 or newer. Preferably 2006 or newer for the better axles.

I assume you do know it's got 3.27 gears in it. Marauders came with 3.55's. Your shifting will be all f'd up and it will be slow as molasses in winter..... on the plus side your top end would be higher than stock and it should have 31 spline axles.
I have a set of 3.55 gears with about 15K on them if you need them or I'd go with 4.10's like many of us have.

How f'd would my shifting be? If I knew how to install gears I would buy yours.

I met a gentleman from Mississippi who swapped his 3.55 for 3.27's.
He swore he got 25 mpg consistently on the highway doing 70mph - 75 mph. The speedo was re-calibrated and had a tune.
95chickn if you do a lot of hwy maybe the 3.27 will work for you?
Anyone have experience with 3.27's in a rauder?

Really f'd up since the RPM and wheel speed will vary greatly from what is programmed in the computer.
A gear install should be left to a professional.
You will need a tune and tuner if you install the 3.27's.
I'd do one of two things
1 - Get 3.55's installed
2 - Get 4.10's installed (will need a tune and tuner)
Do you know if your MM has a tune already?
Do you know what gears are installed currently?
