Well guys the car I had shipped from Car Max - Memphis, Tn to Car Max - Wichita, Kansas followed me home this afternoon:cool:. The Marauder is 2004 SB, dark charcoal interior with 22,800 miles. Options are: Heated Seats, Moon Roof and 6 CD Changer. The car is not perfect, but is very nice, probably a solid 9 out of 10.
It has the following defects: slight curb rash on right front tire, moderate (repaired) scratch just rearward of the fuel door, scuffed or melted area on passenger side of console (1/2 wide 4 inches long) just forward of the console door, aftermarket black turbo style mufflers and some idiot cut off the original positive battery cable end and used one where you clamp the bare wires onto it. Car does show some signs of being driven on salted roads and being from the Chicago area (corrosion on cam covers, belt tensioner etc.). Also the air suspension compressor is very noisy, but I only heard it twice today when we parked and swapped passengers around.
Engine cold start was without any noise and car ran great on the 75 mile trip home. Windows are slightly tinted and interior is spotless with only slight wear on the driver's seat cushion.
I traded in my old 2003 Gran Marquis and Car Max gave me a good screwing on it, but I just had to have this Marauder so I did the deal.
Driving impressions are, well it is not nearly as quick as my 06 Vette and the Maruader rides much more firmly than my 03 Grand Marquis. To me the ride and the exhaust note are nearly perfect. That DOHC motor really sounds great and pulls pretty good in the higher revs. I do know for a fact that it will at least go 100 MPH. I am pretty sure I will be getting a tune if I can get one and a tuner shipped to me.
I do have some photos and will try to them posted tomorrow. Thanks for all the advice.
The best part of all is my wife likes the Marauder way better than the Grand Marquis. It was the seats and the ride that did it for her.
Thanks
Bob

Nice report Bob, I'm glad you bought the car. Marauder's are definitely not quick off the line, some power adding is needed in that department.

Nice car! Congratulations.
4.10 rear gears (or even 3.73s) will help it get off the line some better, if you want to modify it. But be warned - its a slippery slope (modifications). Either way, you will enjoy it. Great cars.

To add to, I found out that removing the factory rear cats and installing Free flow 2-1/2 ''cats with 2-1/2 in X pipe with 2-1/2 'pipes to factory mufflers, and removing resonated with meggs or aftermarket open tips if you wish will improve bottom end performance [ 'wheel spin' ] .with stock tune . A Good SCT tune will also help by changing your shift schedule for improved performance.

I've been looking for this thread. I waited for weeks while Carmax was transferring it for you.
Congrats! big score on my favorite year, color, and factory options.
headers, convertor, 4.10 gear, tune - keep all stock components. Drive like you have no tomorrow ;)

It's been proven silvers are literally cooler than the darker colors. These cars love cooler temps, so yes!
