Started up the marauder this morning and the O/D light started flashing then the CEL light came on, so I took it to auto zone to get it scanned and it read the following codes P1702,P0705

So I went over to google and found it is for p1702
- Faulty Transmission Range (TR) sensor
- Transmission Range (TR) sensor harness is open or shorted
- Transmission Range (TR) sensor circuit poor electrical connection
and for

p0705
Faulty Park/Neutral Position Switch
- Misadjusted Park/Neutral Position Switch
- Park/Neutral Position Switch harness is open or shorted
- Park/Neutral Position Switch circuit poor electrical connection

Now this is my daily driver, I dont have another vehicle I can use.. Does anyone have any experience wth these specific codes or any idea on how bad this actually is?

Check the wiring harness behind the drivers side cam cover. Might be rubbing on a bolt.

And possibly the plug onto the transmission = loose

The range sensor is notorious for going bad. Good news is it's also a neutral safety... Two codes, one part.

Wish my problems were this cheap and easy;)

Hope it's the cure, but looks like it to me.

Not cheap if you have to have it towed and pay someone else to repair.

Well the check engine light went off on its own.. should I even bother taking it in today? I know the head service tech at ford personally so regardless it wont be expensive(unless the parts are expensive) he does everything for parts and beer lol..

Did you check the harness I mentioned? Won't cost you anything but about 1 minute.

I'd have gone in to check that switch/sensor, replace at $50...or wait for it to happen again.
