How much is the Remote Starter/Alarm? Has anyone had the dealer put this in? Is it really expensive to have it installed.

Also do you loose the door keypad fuction?

Thanks!

I had the Ford 'Gold' Remote Start Alarm installed. The kit cost about $250.00 and the installation was around $200.00

You will get your stock remotes back with a blue remote start button where the trunk release was. No more remote trunk release.

Driver Door Keypad remains functional.

I picked up my car in North Carolina and had the dealer here in NY put in the remote start/alarm. Cost me $595. I got back the original keyless entry fobs. They still work. I also got two new remote start fobs. If you push and hold the unlock button the trunk opens. The blue button starts the car remotely and also lets you remove the key when the engine is running. The keypad on the door still works fine.

I actually got the clifford 3.5rs alarm/remote start. Since im an installer, i did all the work myself. I got the progressive door locks, domelight survelance, trunk pop, fuel door pop, all off my remote. I paid about $200 for all this. For an average consumer, it would run you about $600 for a setup like this. Its expensive, but well worth it!!!!

So does the keypad disarm the car? When I called the dealer they said 645. for a total cost. THey also said the keypad would still work but if I unlocked the car with it and opened the door the alarm would still go off. IS that correct?

Well yes, sort of? Mine did it at first. Then I had it re-wired:)

It can be done!
