He did the gear change at 36,000 miles. Then reset ring & pinion due to noise at 102,000 miles. Car now has 248,000 miles. Is this the nornal life expectancy ?

You're did great! Depending on your tolerance for noise, slop and useless limited slip clutches I think these axles barely run for 100K miles on average. The clutches only go 50K.
You never changed the axles? Wow!

Iam now up & running. Turned out to be a bad axle. Replaced axle, race, bearing & new gear fluid. Vibration is all gone. Good for another 250,000 miles.

Glad you got in back on the road. You sure the other axle is fine? Your clutches can't possibly be good after all those miles. Do your tires scratch when pulling out from a side street while turning? If not . . .
Yeah, I know you do what you can do. Just saying these axles definitely have a lifespan.

How many miles do you get out of a set of limited slip clutches?

Depends on the season. :)
In order: 40,000 stock, then around 30 modded, and last set lasted 23 more modded. I see a trend here.

With so many miles on the clock I try to keep the pedel mashing to a limit. When I do nail the go pedal I am in motion 55 mph or above. But yes tires still break loose at 2nd gear shift. Oh and that is on dry pavement straight line.

I have 167k on mine. Most miles are highway miles. From Pa.,OH to Florida. Just had 4:10's put in the tech said all he could see that would have to be replaced soon was axle bearings. Think when I do I will go to them 31 spline then.
