Boost gets you........... broke! Haha. Need peoples experience and knowledge on this one please. I had to drive to the Cable Company three times today. About a 8 mile ride down the highway. Blue car has new Eaton Swap and J-mod. I did a WOT 2-3 upshift today on my 2nd trip home so a 70 to 100mph punch. With the Jmod it obviously hits hard and I really dont do that very often. When I got off the highway everything was fine. Fast forward to the 3rd trip home from the Cable Company when I got off the highway the 1-2 was normal at light throttle then the 2-3 never occurred and basically hung up in 2nd which caught my attention. It was right before a stop light so I didnt really think much of it. But when I took off the 1-2 was fine but it hung in 2nd. It almost felt like it freewheeled a little. If I applied throttle quickly it would shift to 3rd and be just fine. If I manually pulled it into 2nd then clicked 3rd manually it would shift to 3rd. But taking off from a stop light letting the transmission shift it self it wouldnt engage 3rd unless I applied more throttle quickly, as in goose it 1/4 throttle for a moment.

I did some research and this is where I need everyones help. Sounds like a 2-3 accumulator piston issue. If it was sticking in the bore I would assume that I would not have any upshifts at all. Correct? Because to be honest I just went back out on the highway and did some heavy throttle 2-3 upshifts and downshifts. And its fine. It hits every time under moderate to heavy throttle. But when under very light to "normal" throttle it intermittently will not upshift 2-3 until I goose it. Once engaged every gear holds just fine under a load or light throttle. Just the gear change is the issue.

Did I tear the seal, damage the seal, piece of debris get into the seal on the 2-3 accumulator piston above the valve body? If so whats the next step. I dont want to drop the valve body again but I assume I will have to. If I do I want to be prepared to fix this once and for all. So, if there are any updated pistons, seals, kits etc I need to know.

Jmod has at least 2000 miles on it since done.

Doing research............... guess I gotta drop the valve body either way. Dang it.

You've already done it once... it should be easier the second time.

For reference only no light throttle up shift on the 2-3 due to a torn seal on the 2-3 acumulator piston. New piston from Ford fixed the issue. F7AZ-7H292-AB

Mine was torn on the lower half about 1/4 of the way around.
