1) Clean your Marauder.
2) Clean your Marauder.
3) Clean your Marauder.
Recently I have seen Marauders for sale with debris in the interior, the outside unwashed and an engine that looks like an unflushed toilet in the rest room of a Mexican Buffet Restaurant.
Showing me photos of a Marauder you are trying to sell that is dirty tells me you don't give a fart. Why would I buy a car from an owner that doesn't give a fart about his Marauder?

Agreed. I feel that anyone who doesn't give a crap about presentation is prepared to fire sale at a beating and I have no issue taking shots below the belt.
Honestly that says a lot because I am one of the few that haggles on price. If I like it and the price fits the item I pull out the cash, shake hands and carry on.

Exactly how I bought mine, no questions asked, although I am quite new to the group.

Could not agree more!
I bought mine based off of pictures alone. Did not have the privilege of seeing it till it was unloaded from the car transporter. If the pictures had looked like the unfleshed toilet of a Mexican buffe, I would not have bought it.

I studied this site for 6 months daily then I purchased my Marauder from a member, I asked him for current photos which he provided and all where very clean. I asked him to drive it to a Ford dealer and I paid for a full inspection and spoke with the technician for 45 minutes.
The car was as described by the seller but the dealer found two small items he was not aware of ( which is reasonable) I asked them to give a copy of the inspection to the seller when he came back for the car.
I repeated his asking price and asked him what his best price was sell it today, he told me, less than what I thought he would say so I sent a 10% deposit by Paypal to lock it up. Wire transferred the balance after he couriered the title UPS and I received it.
Car carrier picked it up and I waited a week to get it at the border in Maine. I had NEVER seen a Marauder in person but knew I wanted one. The car was a lot better then what I thought I was getting, text book deal on a great car from a very honest member. I would not buy unseen unless it was a member, its like an insurance policy when you buy from a member. I will sell to a member some day and provide the same courtesies. If it was dirty I would never buy it unseen, in person maybe but never without a full mechanical inspection from a pro. I am probably the most satisfied member you will find on here.

Heck I've seen cars on Craigslist for sale and you can see it has a flat tire ,that's just lazy and stupid to me . But I've also seen Marauders all detailed up and the polished exhaust tips all dirty they are a big part of the appearance of our cars I think .

Mine was listed 2 hours before i called about it. No picture but was at a ford dealer hour and a half away..yhe salesman texted me all the pics i requested..i left work early and grabbed $1000 and went up there. It wasnt even processed yet from the trade in..up on the lift and dirty but i said i want it. It had a great pedigree from the carfax. It was someones collecter marauder.. super low miles and the owner rightbbefore me put on 48k in 1.5 years so i knew it had to be highway.

this thread reminds me one I seen on Craigslist the other day. If the owner is a member here and is selling I mean no offense - just the same thing ran through my head.

First of all, thank you for having the respect not to post this on my for sale thread.
You do what you want. I chose not to clean the engine compartment. If you want to see it clean, feel free to buy it and clean it. There are things in the engine bay that I do not feel need to be hit with degreaser.
I posted the picture here as full disclosure. I didn't put engine bay pics in my Craigslist add.

Might be a clue as to an honest seller, he is just showing his cards ! Would I buy from someone who shows no upkeep or maintenance from said photos ?,, I would pass or offer him $8 for it
Every bad situation is a blues song waiting to happen.
