Hey all, I'm getting tints and an MP3 hard drive for my birthday.

The legal tint limit here is 27% all around. That's pitch black or about pitch black at night right? That's all I want...

Anyways, found a place to put them on for $165 plus tax. Same place that does them for Acura/Infiniti when their customers request it.

Cool James. Your parents know about all this work your doing to the car? Right?? Remember to stay off the interstates now.

Really, I am glad to see you are getting your car fixed and getting some the mods accomplished that you wanted. Good luck and have fun.

Yup they know. My dad bought the intake (I'll pay him back soon) and all. The tints I asked my mom about, she's letting me go up this weekend to get them as long as I get the legal 27% and no darker.

So that's pretty dark at night right?

Yeah, I'm glad to see my mod list growing little by little, I'm becoming awfully proud of this car and I told my dad...if I don't get it for college, I'm going to buy another Marquis or Vic. If I get the $$$ and permission to do anything else, I'm going for the handling aspecs of it...so a front and rear sway bar and control arms if they're around then.

OH and...the interstates are ALL chopped up for reconstruction, and they suck around here anyways, public roads are in much better condition, get me anywhere in town faster, and save me the gas.

I just got 20% on my car 2 days ago....talk about dark!!! In the bright sun, it looks good. At dawn/dusk or when its cloudy/rainy like today, looks like black paint!!! :D

It lightens up some with sun exposure, I believe

I'm scheduled to go in at 1:30 on wednesday. Costs me $150 installed and it'll take them 2 hours. I get a discount from $185 because my sister "recomended" them to me through Acura. Whoope!

Yeah....even the lightest tint looks dark for a few days after it is installed.

When I had 35% put on my Crown Vic, I almost had them remove it because it looked waaaay toooo dark. But after a few weeks, it got lighter and then it evened out.

Tinting instructions usually say to have the car sit in the sun for like a day before opening/closing windows to let t he tint cure onto the windows.

The guy that did my MM turned my heat on 90 full blast for like 15-20 minutes since it was cloudy...lol.

I saw yours a few months ago silvermarauder! I really like them:beer:

I ALSO got a $25 gift certificate to Best Buy so I'm going to get a neon light bar for the grill, with the help of Rick (LML) and my brother, I'll be able to self install it. Or I'll just get a DVD, I'm not sure yet...

Well, I've been looking at all sorts of pictures of tint and I'm left with one question.

Is all black colored tint the same? I've seen pictures of 35% tint that looks more like 70%, and 25-35% tint that looks something along the lines of 5%.

This is with just one layer of tint, and this is from some cars here on Marauder net...(don't ask me to find them again please)

So...I figure when I get to Masters Car Stereo tomorrow, I'm going to ask them why this is so, if I can get some really dark dark tints without being illegal (again, 27% here) and how long the individual that'll be working on my beauty has been tinting windows.

I've seen 30% on a friends G35 and you couldn't see in the :censored: during the day.

Hmmmmmm. Any other suggestions?

Hey James my lady friend got her Accord done here for $80 w/ lifetime warranty. They put 20% smoke tint all around and it looks nice. If your getting a metallic tint put on then the price you got is inline otherwise shop around.

20%?? meh! Why not go all the way with the 5% like me!

LOL LOL.

Contrary to what some might believe...I've gotten used to it and can see fine at night. Passengers always complain...but I tell them to pipe down

Well, I know I can get used to a dark tint, but there's my aging mother I have to worry about, so I'm going to see of they have examples of 27-35% tints up there, because that's all I can really settle for!

My friends G35 had a 30%, and you couldn't see inside the car during the day, but you couldn't notice the tint at all just driving around it either.

I had the tints installed today. 27% on the sides and 20% in the rear. Looks great! (Better, took them 5 hours for this and that reason, but the guy was great at what he did so I didn't whine, the circumstances were understandable)

Pictures are in my garage, it's a tad see-through whereas the picture might lead you to believe you couldn't see in the car for anything, but at least my light blue SC flag sticker shows up better!

Anyways I'll have the car out this weekend or next and I'll get better ones then.

Enjoy!

They look AWESOME at night, and I know many of you have darker than 27-20% like me, but I'm real proud. I let my dog in the back seat to see how much you could see of him from the outside with a full moon. It's vague that something inside is moving around, but that's all.

However, they said they were doing ALL of the windows but didn't do the windshield. Can this be done? Even just a little to help make the sides and back darker? I THINK I've seen this done before...but I can't quite remember where... I still think my friends G35 with 30% tints all around were darker.

Still VERY pleased with how the car appears at night now.:D

Any of you see the pictures?

Oh yeah and...the ladies love it:pimp:

Just got mine done today 20% looks great! 5% is bit much unless your pimpin 35% on front windows is legal in mo. but i can get away with 20%
