OK- This is probably picky to most but just the same--it's still Our MM and we DO CARE---

While looking at the rear end today I noticed a BIG difference with the Megs...Look at new member Mark McQuaide's first post titled " New MM 12/26/02" for an excellant pic of the underside Megs and this situation--even on his...

In my case, my MM's right exhaust Meg is a full 3/8 inch LOWER than the left side.....you say so what--well--against the dark upper curvers cut out for the megs--It'S SHOWS UP HUGE! ----And look at Marks' and you will see his left side is similar, but I don't think as much as mine..

So..has anyone noticed such an indifference with theirs..it really is quite noticable..at least with me..maybe it's a guy thing..you know how we are.. ..but take a look ..and see.... wonder what your's is...level gap below the curve of the cut out or not......like I said..picky .but to me it looks BIG....

Mine was the same.
First check if the rubber hanger is centered on the top and bottom brackets, check both sides my left one was installed incorrectly.
Then I covered the right tailpipe with a towel and bent the hanger on the tailpipe as required to level and center them in the opening.

Lo and behold, mine are just the same as yours (marauderman), attention to detail is all we ask for when we pay for perfection and limited edition $$$dollars, man this Forum is awesome when we can just sit down and come up with identical issues relating to the same cause. Thanks for that overview.

marauderman: My MM got bumped in the rear about 2 weeks before T-day. When I took it to the shop they came up with $650. A mark on the lower bumper and the left meg was down about 3/4" told me they would just replace it @ $170.! Never noticed it before the hit. I asked the body shop if they could just bend it up where it should be. Their answer was you can not do that to stainless steel. The other persons insurance paid it so I am OK with that.

Mine is similar, except the right pipe is perfect and the LEFT is offset to the inside just a little bit, maybe an inch...it's not centered in the middle of the bumper cut-out... haven't been under to see if it's welded on wrong, or if I can bend something a little...

RF check the rubber hanger on the left one.

Just when I'm thinking everything is perfect with the car, now I've got this "non-centered meg" problem. Just the left side, right is perfect.

smordue, is that a picture of MY car? ...that is EXACTLY what mine looks like...

it's been wicked cold and windy here  , so I haven't had a chance to crawl under and check the hangar as cyclone03 suggested...if you get under yours, let me know what you find? Thanks, dude...

I have the same issue. Have not tried to do anything about it yet but it bugs me everytime I walk into the garage.

Cyclone03 - Thanks for your reply on 12-28-02 on this---see below
for how your tip will be used to embarrase the Dealer-

After all we have been thru with our return trips to the Dealers, in such a short period of time , I should have expected what happen today on the way home stopping by the Dealer who sold me the car. Told him of the exhaust tips not being level( my right one) and they put it on the lift to look..

Even before putting it on the lift --service mgr. said--yeah -it's lower on the right side alright----I informed him that on the Maruder.net with owners at night , it seemed to be a common problem and an owner had said awhile back on how to correct it-- he said--well if it's a problem like that --surely L/M has it on the service computer and we'll have a fix on it --let me look ( on the computer)--after a few moments--he returned and said --no luck--but lets take a look on the lift--anyway -- it ended with the service mgr saying--" how about bringing it a copy of that other owner's fix for this problem off that chat your on and we'll fix it for you Saturday".( getting 1st oil change then -free-so the tips as well)

WOW--Can yo believe it!!! Yes you all can---we know more than they do----so I'm taking copy of cyclone03 's simple resolve and to show them how we operate around here. :D

Hey don't call me smart unless you add :censor: on the end!

So did it work?

Let me tell you a little something about me.I can fix anything! It's all about tools and knowing how to use them,or misuse if required.
It's also about not being afried to try new things.
Now on a new car,it's also about money. How much will it cost if I :censor: it up!

You got to know you limitations. Mines speeling!:help:
