The blue car got hit yesterday. Interstate 70 and 291 an F150 lost control merging on 70 got sideways which got my attention. The driver overcorrected and came across 3 lanes and hit the wall in front of me quicker than I could yell NO! They then bounced off the wall head on and the truck rotated around and smacked my quarter and about spun me around in the process. Everyone's alright. It happened really fast. I am pleased with the way the car reacted to my defensive driving. I just wish I had another 1/2 second to avoid the damage to my car. Its not bad considering how hard the truck smacked me. It could have been a lot worse.

WOW! Glad everyone's ok. That sucks!!! From what you described, I wish there was a video of it. Blue will look good as new once the insurance co. is done with it.

That hurts to see and it isn't my car. I hope the repair works out for you and the car looks like it did before the accident.

Wheel got smacked. Rear end is not shifted. I will address the wheel and possible future rear end issues. (LOL)

It will never look the same after the accident, if you think about it, how can it?

And by "It can only look better", you mean the paint, and therein lies the problem, the repaired area may have a flatter, deeper, shinier look, now it does not match the rest of the car.

Well, I was trying to be positive. My Marauder isn't the same after a much less damaging hit. I will always look at the front of my car and think of the damage. The repair is as good as I can expect, but it isn't how the car came from the factory. That will bother me, but maybe it won't bother the original poster.

This color blue does not fade, even after 11 years.

hope everyone is okay. If it had to happen it looks like a good spot to me as long as your wheel is good. Toatally missed the door and that million dollar bumper. You won't even notice it when repaired. Good luck to you. Looks like that truck has had better days however.

I guess the DTR comment was a joke. Maybe more of a deterrent from people's BS. I appreciate the opinion the 1st time. Dont keep forcing it upon me.
I guess I could paint it black instead...........
This ball starts rolling tomorrow. Ugh.

Yes. It only has 50K on it so it has a long life ahead of it bumps and bruises included.

I'm a little late (long weekend at work), but, glad everyone one is ok! Glad you were able to apply some defensive driving and save your car as well. That can be fixed and you will hardly notice it! Just make sure the shop fixes it to YOUR liking and don't accept anything less. I did that years ago on my first brand new Mustang I ordered. Someone caved in the drivers door and the body shop "fixed" it. When I said the paint didn't match, they said that was the perfect match to the paint, NOT! It was the Ford dealer's body shop I bought the car from so I didn't figure there was much to argue about. Especially since I had moved and the dealer was an hour away. I was much younger back then. But, it drove me nuts afterwards....until I sold it......

Just got the police report. Unlicensed driver not even her vehicle. I have an appointment tomorrow with the best body shop in town for a CCC1 inspection. I hope this works out. I cant stand getting in the car everyday with a bashed in quarter.

A good shop will make it so you may not even know where the blending is done.
I had a Prowler Purple car with quarter damage, he was done in a day! I looked everywhere for the difference in texture, shine, or over spray / tape line. Nothing.
Over 10 years and I still can't tell where he blended the paint, or fixed the damage.
You'll be fine with a flat blue color.

I really dont want to replace the quarter. I would love to get my buddy to try and save the panel. Im not sure he is interested though and he is the only person in town I trust to do that. We will see what happens. For now Im ordering a big band-aid magnet to cover the booboo. ;)

Yep you are correct. Still sucks a$$ though. Estimate was on 12-12-14, insurance still has not received the estimate from the body shop as of today. So I paid a visit. Estimator said he would sent it today after lunch. I will call insurance tomorrow and if they have not received the estimate they will get another in person visit............. only not as nice. I am supposed to trust you with my car as a professional collision facility, but you cant even forward an estimate to insurance properly in 17 days?

I guess I should specify that the car is not in the shop yet. This is just getting insurance to accept the claim! Im still driving the car daily with the damage.
