Just got an oil change done on the car, along with the multi-point inspection and they told me that both of my upper ball joints are torn, the car has 78K miles and drives/rides like a dream.
So, $396.00 for parts and $308.00 for labor..
Is this a fair price?

You are on the island and its at a dealer, it is high..Any good alignment shops around? not chain stores, but individual business with reputation for front end work?

That's a lot of dough. Full freight at the dealer. It is pretty easy to replace the upper control arms yourself, maybe a good time to pick up a wrench.

Purchase them from one of the Online Ford dealers alike Tasca, and have a local shop install and do the alignment.

How long is the process for this? Four hours for labor? And will torn upper ball joints cause creaking? How long can a car go with torn upperball joints?

Until they decide to pop and you rapidly lose control of your vehicle.
