2003 Lincoln Aviator AWD came up with this code. I identified it as "2nd gear ratio incorrect" Truck is stock w/145K. Trans fluid was replaced a few thousand miles ago.

Any ideas on why this code would be thrown?

Any work done on the truck recently?

Sounds like a sensor was misread or stuck. I'd clear the code and see if it comes back.

Usually means the trans is done.

5R's are the worst things about aviators.

At what intervals was the ATF/Filter changed?

You should change all of your COPs at once.
Stop changing them as they go.
They are like headlights.
When one goes you change the pair,
cause the other headlight is going to go out soon.

I changed all my COPs, wires and plugs at 120k miles
and I have not had any problems in my last 33k miles.

Transmission codes can be a symptom of engine misfires.
The transmission only reacts to what the engine does.
If the engine doesn't run smooth, neither will the tranny.
