View Full Version : Clearcoat Inside Wheels?

I, as well as the previous owner have used 0000 steel wool on the inside of my wheels in the past, had no idea that area was clear coated also. Has anyone applied a clear coat or similar to make cleaning them easy? What did you use? Spray, brush? Has it been durable? How long since applied?

Thanks

$59.99 seems a bit steep.

I do this every year before installing winter wheels. I use brake cleaner & then brillo pads to clean the inside of the wheels. Then taped off with masking tape & newspaper. This would keep the clear coat over spray from going to front side. Found wheels stay cleaner longer & clean up much easier throughout the year.

Sounds like I may have to try it although I was hoping to find something I wouldn't have to re-apply every year.

The $59.99 product is long term, go cheap and do it every year or spend the money first time for a quality product and be done with it.
