Door Panel Entry Lights

Ok I'm sure there is a simple answer to my question and I have tried to play with many things in my 04MM and have read the mans but still have not been able to figure this out. The red lights that are on the lower door panels. Do they work ? If so when should they work and how do you get them to work ? My guess is that they should turn on when you open the door so that you can see the curb as you step out. However, mine never come on.

They are reflectors only.

Unfortunatly, they are just simple reflectors. However, you can install lights into it, using the door trigger as a source or switch to get power to a light. It would involve a bit of wiring. I'd probably say about $150 for all 4 doors, just because you need to go thru the door boots to do it properly.

Well that certainly explains that. I guess I would have had to take the door apart to figure that out. Thanks fellas.

Any chance somebody knows where to find a weblink for some MM advertisement? My buddy said that he had seen the advertisment someplace as a Windows Media Player clip. I thought that I might find it here on the this site but have had no luck.

When I was younger (and had hair) I worked as a parts man for a Buick dealer. One afternoon an elderly black man came to the counter. I asked what I could do for him but I couldn't understand what he wanted. I finally decoded that he wanted an "imitation light" for a 74 Electra. I had no idea what an imitation light was and try to elicit more information. He told me that it was on the door. I finally went out to the lot to have him show me the part on his car. He wanted the reflector on the inside of the door.
