View Full Version : FOUND! Marauder owner near me! Wants a turbo?

Well, I was coming home from somewhere today and low and behold a Black Marauder is pulling into my favorite grocery store, Publix! I follow what appears to be an older woman through the parking lot and park close to her. I follow her in and grab her attention, asking if it's her car and telling her about the site.

She said it was her husbands car, it's an 03' and has no performance mods so far. However he's very interested in getting some modifications including a turbo charger...:lol:

I left my screen name and e-mail address with her and she said her husband would love to talk to me so hopefully I'll get some words in the next few days. He's not quite sure what modifications he wants to get but he was concerned about how much power/strain a turbo would put on the engine...he was looking at one to get him in the 500hp range she said she thought.

Well, they live about 2 miles from me so this is really cool! It looked well kept, I walked around it, just about a weeks worth of pollen, that's all.

Fun fun fun! Now I have someone who's car I can google %

Anyways, I told her I'd talk with him about it and discuss whether or not turbo or supercharging would be ideal.

I sure felt relieved when she said "no, it's my husbands"...I didn't want to come up to some lady who thought she had a nice Marquis!

I think most people that know about turbos have ruled them out for a number of reasons. If they guy wants around 500 hp, do like several of us have done, get a supercharger. EITHER the vortech or eaton (hope that meets with the political correctness standards). Personally, I am somewhere in the area of 525+ horsepower at the flywheel, and 440 HP at the rear wheels. This was achieved with the Eaton, Pro-m MAF, and MagnaFlo cat back exhaust. Effster did a great job with his setup, and Zack got some good dyno numbers with his vortech. So my advise is get something that is tried and true on the marauder.

Also...I've "investigated" the Turbo...up one side, and down another...literally. There is NO WAY to do it without it being done...well...let's just say..."cheesy". The exhaust has to go UNDER the K-member. Not good....
Yeah, and I told her when she mentioned it...that the other drawback I've heard about is the plumbing is really odd, or there's too much of it. WHOOOSH right over her head, but I'm sure the husband will understand when I speak with him!

I'll be talking to him about all the different types of S/Cs...I'm not biased because I don't have jack:cool:

I saw ANOTHER Marauder today by the mall! May have been the same one I don't know, but there was too much traffic for me to catch up...damn.

Two in one day and I haven't seen one in months!

What's the deal? I too chatted with a Marauder owner today! I spotted him drive up on our lot , couldn't wait to talk to the guy . He was looking at a lightning 2004 . I could of cared less that he didn't have any intentions ,I just wanted to compare notes!! He has an '03 Black & charcoal with 30k on the clock. He traded a lightning for the MM last year. His only beef with MM he said he has bad brake shake and his tires are wearing uneven.He said he thought that the Lightning was more fun and way faster. He has had several performance vehicles '95 Cobra, SVT Contour, then the lightning and now the MM.The only commonality I thought, was that he likes power.He said he might put a s/c on the MM but thought it was a little $$:burnout: Earlier that morning I took a ,04 Cobra for a little gallop :baaa: .I insisted when he had more time that he do the same .
