View Full Version : A realistic 0-60 time?
I'm looking at buying an 04 MM and I can't find anywhere
a realistic 0-60 time. Anyone have an idea of how quick
this 4200 lb. monster goes?
Thanks

Should be 6.5-6.8 easy after you've broken it in past 3-5 thousand miles.
But by then you'll be so enticed by modifications that you'll be doing 5.5-6.0.

then with headers, 4.10 gears, underdrive pullies, computer chip, should be 5 seconds flat.

Or let me drive, I weight 120 pounds...no modifications and I'll get it to 60 in 5 seconds stock:rasta:

Best 0-60 MPH time in mine so far was 4.38 seconds on a cool spring morning.

I take it you mean the day you buy it. about 7 seconds, wait about 5000 miles about 6.3--6.7 sec. A simple reflash will get you under 6 sec.

My KB-MMS cuts a 4.2 zero to 60, but that's not realistic or representative of the N/A MM. My first MM, with a Reinhart chip, 180 stat, IT-20 denso plugs and 4:10 gears cut a 6.03. This is a tad closer to the reality. With a brand new bonse stock '04, with improved torque converter and different tranny gears, you may expect mid to upper sixes in ideal conditions.

OK, I did test drive one and I'm hooked. I didn't want one with the
moon roof and heated seats, which all the ones on the lot had, so the dealer said they could contact the factory and modify one they already had on order. According to her, it should be 3 weeks so I ploped down my $$ and am waiting. Several dealers said that it was too late to order one.
7 seconds 0-60 and down to 6.5 or so after break in??!!?? :cool4:
I like it,,,but maybe not this winter. Somehow I don't think an 04MM
will be a good snow car.:baaa:

Welcome to the club man! What color did you get?
You'll love it!:banana2:
You got that about right for 0-60 times. It's not hard to modify that either. A computer tuner of some sort would do you fine in the short and maybe even long run if you thirst for some extra juice.

Your right about this statement--just ask Sarge..or any northern MM owners--most pack them away in the garage for safe keeping---I even put mine when I first got it in a snow bank and didn't get any change back either..and it took me there byitself.....best to drive another car at those times......Tom

It is too late for a >new< order, but the final builds are in June, IIRC, so they should be able to change an order awating build, assuming it's done by a certain period before the build date.

I haven't had mine in the snow yet... but somehow the PA State Troopers seem to drive the same basic car all winter long.
I don't think its a Marauder problem... I've never had a car on high performance tires that would do much in the white stuff.
I can't say first hand, but I bet snow-biters would work wonders.
If you enjoyed your test drive, wait until its broken in! I don't know why, but they reallly do run better with some miles on them.
Welcome,
Greg
Snow Tires sound like the way to help winter driving. I only get one car so I'm gonna hafta find a way to make it a little better in the snow.. I got a black one...my 4th black car in a row.
Thanks for all the good info.
