Bottom Line Question: will two fans on a 34 inch by 7 inch by 2 inch inter-cooler reduce compressed air temps into the MM engine, when compared to the stock Trilogy intercooler with no fans?
Tech Specs: Intercooler is a Fluidyne FHP20-16898, with 1" inlet & outlet for radiator hose. Fans are DCM/Texdyne TA07A1001 each pulling 350 CFM, consuming 5.4 amps. Controller/relays/thermo fan switch not yet chosen.

Anyone have experience or opinions??? thanks

I can measure open space tomorrow since mine is stripped. But for some reason 28" max space allowed is in my head? Like I said, I'll measure tomorrow.

The fans won't hinder anything, just use a stock style controller off any wrecked CV. They work excellent and cheap.

Also the cobra heat exchanger is 3/4" so you'll have to adapt down.

Here is mine: http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=81715&page=2

I have since removed the hardline plumbing because I couldn't keep it tight and when I had it apart last time I welded all the pieces of the framework together.

My H/E is 26" wide, and barely fits.

If you want your IAT temps low, get a killer chiller.
Fans are only beneficial when sitting still for extended lengths of time

Your available room - 25 1/2" between the headlights or 31 3/4" between the frame rails.

Time to get the grinder out homie.

Thanks for the history and the advice. Looks like a trial and error effort to get 10# of intercooler into a 5# car!

It's a battle you will never win. You can install a huge radiator for the sc system and it will still get heat soaked.
Only a killer chiller will fix it

I will eventually be installing a killer chiller, I just have other stuff to take care of first
