I have to replace the worn rear Addco #650 center mount bushings. I think when I installed these years ago I may have used stock oem bushings & for sure oem straps. Not the ones supplied by Addco. In ordering new 1" polyurethane bushings they were delivered bushings & straps. The correct size bushings don't fit the oem straps. If I use the half straps supplied by Addco modifications are needed. Who has used the Addco straps & how did you fab mounting points ?

I had a guy from a local welding shop fabricate some plates and weld them onto the bottom of the axle. These allowed me to use the Addco/Energy Suspension type straps (with two nuts/bolts each) instead of the OE ones.

My previous Panther had Energy Suspension bushings in the OE straps, which I had drilled/tapped for zerk fittings. That worked fine too.

If you decide to do the conversion for the first method, I'd also have the welder reinforce the bar's endlink mounting points, better safe than sorry. Both jobs were easy enough for the guy I used, I had him do it at my Ford dealer while the car was up on the lift and it went quick and easy.

Thanks again for a fix. New tight bushings will do the trick.

Addco supplied the correct bushings that fit OEM straps for me, although I used the larger tubular sway bar. I then modified the Addco bushings and OEM straps for zert fittings.

They may have sent you the wrong bushings. The OEM bushings would not fit the larger Addco bar.
