In a case of my Marauder sitting for a couple of months during Winter, how long do you crank the car with pedal to the floor to get the oil flowing? Is there a lot of wear to the starter when doing this?

TIA!

Approximately 60 seconds until you build actual pressure.
Just start the car.

Wow, I didn't think it was that long. I started it once and drove it around last week after priming it for only about 15 seconds. I figured that would be enough. Thanks!

I'd just start it up and drive it.

When I start up The Blackbird in the spring, I crank it with the pedal to the floor until the OP gauge just starts to move. If I had to guess, I'd say it's about 20 seconds. I stop cranking for a few seconds then start it as normal. Never had an issue and never seen any blue smoke or heard any bad noises.

When the engine fires, the pump becomes more effective sooner. At slow (starter) speeds, the pump is less efficient. Likely less damage starting it, instead of extended cranking.

I start mine right up and have full pressure within seconds.

I'll try just starting it up in the spring. If the motor disassembles, I'll have Zack build me a mega-motor... :D
