Driven the 03 & 04?

Is it just me, or does the 04 seem to have more off the line?
My 03 seems to lag just a bit and then apply the power. Mrsteamropes will smoke the tires with out running up the rpms before she lets off the brake.

It is supposed to. It (2004) has a higher stall speed torque converter.

I haven't had my 04 smoke the tires but maybe I'm not trying very hard. Of course there was a post awhile back that some 04's have the earlier version of the tranny. I'm not sure how to tell.

Dual knock sensors too. Something else too, I forget what. But the knock sensors are supposed to help in the lower rpms.

It's not just you. I've only got 750 miles on my '04, so I have not pushed it very hard yet, but it seems to be a little hotter off the line than my '03 was. Glad to hear it's not just my imagination! :D :burnout:

My '04 feels slightly stronger than what I remember about the '03 when it was stock. It still seems a little confused about the shifting, though.

My 10 year old keeps saying "Get a tune, Daddy, get a tune." Out of the mouths of babes...

I've driven both years. I've also driven a late 300B which is very close to what the 2004 is like, IMHO.
