From Barry Boffone...

2004 Mercury Marauder-DTR
Drawing!!!!

We are trying to come up with unique ways to help Bill and TJ for this soon to be great meet.
As you know I have a few Marauders (HAHA)
I have a 2004 DTR that I am willing to Raffle off. The DTR has been reworked and repainted. Mo's did all the work.
I will provide a list of all the stuff that was done as time allows. I do own and run a Bakery.
There will be 50 tickets at $300.00 each. 46 tickets have to be sold or all monies will be returned to the ticket buyers. I would not be surprised if some tickets will be given to Bill and TJ to auction off. Where can you buy a Marauder that is almost new for the price of a tire.
If you are interested Contact me PM, Email BarryBoffone@yahoo.com (BarryBoffone@yahoo.com) or cell 504-315-0663

This has never been done before and is all part of making Louisville 10th anny a success.

Title transfer
Bill of sale
Insurance binder

I have acess to a notory that do what is needed @ the time of winning...

And as for insurance with mine, as long as I have full coverage and I buy a car I am covered for so many days before I even have to call them...

As for the rest I would think once you arrived home you would just go to the clerks office and have it registered/inspected and pay the fees...even if all that is $500, which it shouldn't you're still getting a hellava deel...

I could even store the car at my house so arrangements can be made for shipping or pick up so it won't have to be a rushed thing. I may even be able to help with delivery DEPENDING on where and when.

I think it is a great idea and do not want to be a party pooper, but in some states this is considered gambling and is illegal (Hawaii and Kansas I think) if not illegal then you may need to apply for registration as a charity, in some states the charity may have to have been established for 5 years, every state is different and the buyer will most likely need to pay taxes based on market value in most states.

I only bring this up to prompt you to do your homework now so you can achieve the best possible result, and no unpleasant surprises show up. If your serious about this Best of luck!

how do we buy tickets?
paypal $300 per ticket to email in post #1?
at what point to you stop waiting for 48 ticket sales on forums - a month? two?
how will the names / number of tickets be pooled for the raffle?
when will the drawing / winner be announced?
if unable to be present, will winner be able to pick up / transport?
I think I'm asking these details for more than myself...
thanks! gotta win, gotta win!

If not present I can store the car at my house so nobody has to rush to set up shipping after the ticket has been drawn. And like I've said depending on where the lucky winner is I may be able to help with delivery. And I beleive the ticket will be drawn Saturday during the raffle...

Cash, check or money order, I do not have a paypal account.
You can buy tickets NOW. Call, email or PM me to reserve tickets. The printer said they will be ready tomorrow.
Tickets will be sold until the time of the drawing.
Saturday night (at Louisville) at the meting the drawing will be held.
The 50 tickets will be put in a big bucket and a person picked from the group will pick the ticket. I will not do it. Hell Chief455 you can pick it if you are there.
Winner will be announced one second after the winning ticket is picked.
You must be 18 years old or older to purchase a ticket.
Transport and notary fees are the winners responsibility
Please note that there will be ONLY 50 tickets sold.
If less than 46 tickets are not sold then it is my decision to continue the drawing or return all monies sent. Where can you get a rebuilt Marauder for the price of a tire.

I know that car, it was in my shop for service several times. I know the original owner. We diagnosed the weak cylinder, then he sold it.

I'll buy a ticket...you really should get a Paypal account. You can get it quick.

or get a square device for your phone and take credit cards and add 2.75% to the 300.00.

Like I said..I'll buy one ticket.

Barry has offered a very nice, turn key Marauder for the risk of $300

Don't you guys blow that much in a month on junk food, booze, parts you don't need, entertainment, hookers, drugs, guns, something? Yes, you do!
If you don't put in the risk, you CAN'T get the reward.
At 48 tickets, having just one is pretty good odds!
I sure want a shot at winning, and without anyone else to man up, nobody get's it. Come on, write the check.....show your love of Marauder, or invest in a chance to turn $300 into about $10k EASILY!!
If I get my ticket refunded due to no smart investors, :mad2::mad2:
Carry on....:burnout:

Barry has offered a very nice, turn key Marauder for the risk of $300

Don't you guys blow that much in a month on junk food, booze, parts you don't need, entertainment, hookers, drugs, guns, something? Yes, you do!
If you don't put in the risk, you CAN'T get the reward.
At 48 tickets, having just one is pretty good odds!

You make some good points and who doesn't want a Marauder but I have absolutely no more room for cars at my house. (More junk food, booze and hookers... I could prolly find space):D

It is a great opportunity indeed! But guys like me also see it as 97.87234043 or simplified 97.9% guarantee to helping fund another members new to him car. :)

Seriously speaking, great opportunity, good odds, but I simply can't afford to gamble my money like that. I'm way too cheap... :P

I hear you, Bob. So this is an opportunity which might appeal most to somebody without a Marauder (or two or three) already sitting in their garage. Hopefully those guys are stepping up. Like you said, the odds aren't bad.

Bob I though you were my friend. I was going to give it to you but now you are off of my Christmas Card list....
I have to many Marauders (really can you ever have too many) I hate to see it go to someone that don't know what it is or turn it into a TAXI.
I am seriously thinking about holding the raffle with the two ticket holders. See it at Louisville, it is the big shiney RED Marauder parked by the dumpster.
Oh well I can't make you buy tickets but I can make you wish you did buy one.
See ya there..

I went that way in my mind, then came around.
The thought of congratulating another winner for getting my ticket money. I'm too cheap.
But, it could be ME getting the car, and I'm not cheap - to myself!:D
So I'm taking the chance- and I actually would be happy to see someone here win a car!

I think you're right - a vast majority on site have at least one Marauder, or several toys. So it seems throwing 300 bucks into another guys hands, or winning a car not needed or having space for.
SELL IT! If you win the raffle, advertise it here at a nice low price, another member that wants it gets a great deal, you make a nice profit - win-win-win!
I'm sure Barry won't care when he get's full ticket expectation, and someone gets the car that loves it.
I understand everyone's trepidation, but 300 bucks that could turn into thousands, seems like better investment than 401k right now!!
I guess I'm just surprised how few of the guys NOT having a stable of cars are stepping up. :shake:

Just wait until everyone shows up and see's the car. It will be a different story then. Especially after adult beverages. Hold onto those tickets.......... they will hopefully start flying out of your hand.
