2003 Mercury Marauder

Gentlemen. I need your advice. I purchased a 2003 Marauder with 144k miles on 1/10. The vehicle appeared to be in great condition. Only noticeable adds were K&N air filter. Monday I had a state inspection done. When I drove home the check engine light came on and there is a slight shimmer in the idle. Also, when 1st and 2nd transition there is a slight vibration. Any info would help guys and gals. If just curious as to what I'm getting into and what possibly could cause this.

Go to a FLAPS and have them read the code(s). Post them here. Just a shot in the dark without the code(s)

Good morning Gents. The shop this morning advised me that 2 codes were making my check engine light come on.
PO302 and PO308. Any info from you experts will help.

Replace all 8 spark plugs unless you have evidence they are relatively new. If that isn't it, then you have 2 COPs on their way out.

Did you leave the car for the inspection? What are the chances the tech "test drove" your car? I changed shops when I found a new set of "stripes" in the street in front of the shop when I picked it up!
Rough treatment may have left you with new problems.

Cops are cheap, and with 144k on the clock, a good investment.

FYI, Rock Auto has Motorcraft 4V Coils available for $38/ea currently.
