I have probs loading up coming into boost. I found a vacuum nipple without anything on it. Need help, should this be capped or connected somewhere. I cannot locate any hoses not connected. it is on the passenger side of the lower housing unit. 40824

Any help greatly appreciated. :)

With that header, I am surprised there are not 30+ answers.

That's kinda what I was hoping for. I have a friend coming over to help troubleshoot. I could not find any info in the Trilogy installation manual either...:(

Maybe PM Spectragod as he has a Lysholm. For now if no line is found off and everything that needs vacuum has it cap it. I imagine your not sitting at 21 on the vacuum gauge at idle correct?

the vacuum gauge appears to act normal, the car drives perfectly normal until you get to the positive side (+1 and up) of boost. Then it starts to stumble. I replace the TPS, plugs (they were due), to no avail. :(

I would cap it, see if it runs better. You have nothing to lose.

Thank you sir. I just now found some 'supplement' pages in the back of my install manual and saw that it was capped. I am going to try that. hopefully it will solve the problem.

Cap it off and tie wrap it secure, well at least that's what I did with mine.

I found an open source when I swapped blower head units. My idle was effected adversely.

It idles fine just won't run properly above +1 psi boost. Loads up, sputters...:(

mine idled fine with the open source, might have been tuned that way. when we capped it is when the idle (cold start only) started to fumble.
Sounds like yours needs to be capped. good luck!

Well, I capped it and no change. :(

Ran a vacuum test on the bypass valve and it failed. blown diaphragm. This is what I suspected initially. Symptomatic of the bypass valve not closing. Need a new bypass valve actuator.
Anybody know the part #?
Mine is mounted on the rear of the housing, (twin screw) not on the side like the Eaton. Might be the same part number though.

I suspect this diaphragm went bad first and may have blown that vacuum plug off. Dunno. Thanks in advance for any and all help.

If the diaphragm was bad it would always be in boost. Sounds more like a vacuum leak or sticking.

it would not hold a bit of vacuum when we tested it. I am replacing it.
