Just sharing my experience. Before I get started I just want to say I have used nothing but SCT products in the past and always liked them and preferred them to other tuners. I just wanted to try something new.
My marauder has been running on the stock tune since I rebuilt the engine 500 miles ago. Its got flat top pistons for 11:1, 98 cobra cams advanced 4*, some mild exhaust work, a 170* t-stat, and the factory air box removed with a conical filter adapted to the stock MAF.
So I just got done creating a tune and installing it on the car. Its so simple. It only took 15min. Its not as cool looking as the SCT, and you have to hook it up to the computer to make changes unlike the SCT stuff where you can make small changes via the handheld. Where the Delta shines is that I can make as many tunes as I want, and don't have to get a tune made at a dyno, or emailed to me which makes it possible to street tune with a wideband and datalogger (i use an innovate LM-2). I know the SCT has the pro racer package, and I have owned it. Its pretty complicated if you are a novice tuner. Over all I really like the delta tuner with the simple special forces software, and it seems to be cheaper than the SCT with the option to upgrade to the the full "commando" software at a later time. My dad used the other license (it comes with 2) to tune his 03' cobra with the Delta Force, and he really liked it as well. I don't dislike SCT or anything, and the handheld looks cool. Overall I like them equally I suppose. Its not a bad way to go since it can tune 2 vehicles which means you and a buddy could split the cost and both have a decent tune.
After the tune was installed the difference was noticeable. I moved the shift points up a few hundred RPM on the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts to help compensate for the cobra cams higher RPM required, and a 800 RPM on the 3-4 shift so it won't be going into 4 when going 30mph. That bugs the crap out of me. I might play around with the shift points more just to experiment and see whats best. I also made the shifts more firm with the tune which was definitely noticeable. I removed the rev limiter, turned off the rear O2 sensors, and changed the compression ratio to 11:1 and octane to 93 ( it uses this info to calculate the fuel and spark tables). All in all I'm pleased with their product.
