:violin:So after a long thought process I have decided that it is time for me to join the ever growing group of individuals parting ways with our Marauders. It took a long time for me to come to this decision. I know I will miss it but I just want something newer. With 103,000 Miles I just feel like its time for something new. My only problem is I don't know what to get now? I wanted to stay with Ford, but I want a full size proformance sedan that is rear wheel drive. Something that ford has moved away from. My next choice is going across enemy lines and going Dodge. I have my eye on the Charger but I'm still unsure. Any suggestions?:help:

try the Charger and the Challenger has more room in the back than you realize. Have you tried e new SHO? Its quicker than a stock MM

4 Doors is a must. I thought about the SHO and I do like the look of it but I want a rear wheel drive car and never really been a fan of FWD or AWD cars, and call me crazy but I feel ford these days have been pricing out of their league.

I'm not a fan a FWD but I like AWD, pretty nice, you should at least try it. Agreed its a bit expensive my wife went with a Fusion - totally different car though.
You could always go a bit smaller with a CTS

I'll look into the Taurus a bit more, but as far as the Fusion thats a No Go for sure. I'm 6'5" and not a fan of them.

I've had an idea going through my head for a while about building a much newer Grand Marquis (09-10) into a modern Marauder X100. GT500 5.4, Tremec TR6060, all the crazy goodies. But like most of my plans, they're a little crazy & pretty expensive. If this is something you'd be interested in though, give it a shot, go for it! It'd certainly be unique & force to be reckoned with!!!

That thought crossed my mind as well but being that my mechanically abilities are limited to what I watch in videos on YouTube haha! Thats a bit more than I wanna take on. I'm sure someone is going to do it soon enough if not done already.

I live in the Chicagoland area right now and AWD would be nice but will be relocating to Florida in spring so I wouldn't need it. I had a AWD Charger for a police cruiser for a bit and it definitely was nice.

I drove a 2012 Charger R/T loaded and it was a great car. I'm good friends with a 20 year service manager at Dodge and he said no chronic issues, great cars = drive one, you'll love it. He was right! It feels better over the road than Marauder and had equal snot, with some sense of better control. My mechanic, works on everything from tractors to $150k AMG twin turbo cars - said stay away from the SHO - crap drive line quality.
I just bought a new Accord daily driver so can't afford it now, but I will own one. Charger R/T - or SRT8

funny how everyone has different taste - except Marauder!
I want to like the CTSV, but can't - toaster oven to me. when I see a mint Charger in black or silver, I stare. that's all it takes. Maybe I'm a cop car lover.
Only 4 door rear wheel drive in the price range.
the drive surprised me, regarding ride, handling and power. A bit busy in the dash cluster, but very much a drivers car - for ~$25k fully loaded under 15k miles used, 8 years of warranty left....

Thanks for the info on the SHO. I have heard a few things from other people as well about them and their bugs. I hate to do it but I think I'm actually going to leave the Ford family and go with a dodge.

I would love to keep the Maruader but lately it has been acting up and now the trans is slipping and I'm just running out of patients and don't wanna drop more money into it. It's my everyday driver so I don't have time for any down time with it.

I think the new Chrysler 300s look awesome. Haven't driven one, though. 300hp and 31 mpg from the V6, 5.7L HEMI optional. If you can afford the 300 SRT8 (6.4L HEMI), though, I'd just get a Chevy SS. It's the better car.... the best sub 100k large performance sedan, imo.
If you're open to mid-sized vehicles the pool becomes much larger.

Finally!
yes 300 c, he I, add fin (spoiler) extension to rear trunk (like Marauder).
Hemi or not, I rent 40 cars per year for work, and I get to drive them all for a day or three.
And from the INSIDE, the 300 is a comfortable car. The look out over the hood is nice, and in the last few years it is not so "gun turret" limited sight lines. Niew inside out is good (the Marauder is great), unlike challenger which has large blind spots.
I like it.

Ecoboost Lincoln MKS, about 2 years old so somebody else takes the depreciation bath.
Then put a set of springs under it... I used some Edelbrock stuff for a non-SHO Taurus and I got tighter handling, a nicer stance, and the ride is still great.
A tune from LMS put my car into the high 12s on a cold night.
More room than the MM. No torque steer. Lots of Lincoln luxury.
It can't match the MM's attitude... I don't think anything can... that's why I kept mine! But the MKS makes the MM feel old.

Enjoy the new car. Always liked the newer Dodge's. Though I remember the first time i drove a Challenger for an extended time - took me a while to get used to the higher doors, but almost all the cars are made that way now - hear its for side impact safety reasons.
This thread got be thinking, at this point most of us don't own an MM because it is the best car out there. It is because of what it is and why we enjoy it as well as the economical fact most of us have it paid off.
In other words, most equivalent new cars are way better than the MM just like the MM is a way better automobile than my 70 442. But I'd give up the MM before the 442. And in 5 years or so (depending on kids college costs) when I get a new hot-rod I plan on keeping the MM as well.

I plan on having another one eventually, but at the moment having it for an everyday driver and not having the time or money for down time to do the things I wanted to inprove it and keep it up just wasn't feasible. I sold it to a guy that is an avid car enthusiast and always wanted a Marauder. So it went to a good home to someone that can do what I wasn't able to do at this time. My next one will be supercharged though. :burnout:

2012 up the Dodge line up is a good brand / Law enforcement groups have found Dodge to be expensive to repair after collision / the Tarusus in Law use seem to be better over all, Liberty mutual stated that the Taruses can take a better lick in accidents and are cheaper to fix and cheaper to insure . Either one would work for me . I will probably in the near future get the Ole lady a Challenger /3.5 ,nothing else will work for her .[ Honda has been great but its time to go ]

I second the Lincoln MKS w/ Ecoboost.
My current is a 2011. It is certified. Purchased it in May for under $30k.
4 Year 50,000 warranty just expired. It is certified for 6/100K.
I get between 18-24 MPG.
I guarantee you won't have strangers coming up to you to comment about your Dodge when it has 100K miles, like I get all the time with my Marauder. I have 123K and it still looks like new. Just this weekend, I was eating out, sitting close to a window to watch my baby, and saw a guy putting his family into the car beside mine. I noticed him giving it the eye, but when he had seated his daughter, he walked slowly around my car, just soaking it up. People talk to me all the time about this 12 year old car, like no other car I ever owned and I've had quite a few in my life. I let my wife get the new car - win/win b/c I get to drive both, but she doesn't drive the Merc:)

I couldn't agree more. I love my MM but I'm having a bunch of little glitches here and there and it's by far the most dependable car I've owned but I really want to upgrade to a newer car and nothing from Ford. Imo the RT is the best bang for the buck and it's one of the only few new sedans that turn heads and has that badass factor all in one affordable and economical daily driving package. Responds well to mods from Mopar and can still be suitable for daily use with a warranty. I always wanted to supercharge my MM but at 165k of daily driving and other expenses at hand it brings a sad reality. I would get another MM someday but one that's already SC and it most certainly wouldn't be a DD.

It's a 2007 R/T with the R/T package. I know that sounds redundant but the R/T package added a better exhaust system (good for an extra 30-40HP), the nicer interior and the red R/T badging.

I saw that one. It did sound good. I was listening to Flowmasters products and Pypes and I found that I like the Pypes Violator system. That's the one I'm gonna get. A lot of people with Chargers complain about bad drone with the flowmaster. Pypes has some complaints but most of the reviews were good and I really like the sound of them. As far as height. I'm gonna keep mine the height it is. I don't care to sit low.
Well mine just decided to quit starting due to the horrible cold weather and I'm forced to drive my truck and pay dearly for gas. This thread + situation is making me really consider my options. I want a 2015 but I don't have enough saved up and now I'm wondering if its feasible to trade the Marauder in before I put any more miles on it. I love my car but I'm seeing more and more cool things being done with Mopar products and the fact that they're better suited for DD use. I'm open to 11-14 but they really are expensive used so new isn't much different in price at least my area. I love that color too. Granite Grey and Black Crystal are my top choices. Can't wait for you to post more pics.

I'm thinking you guys should go to the chrysler, and nissan forums to discuss your love for their products, If I want to see a ton of pics of chryslers , Ill simply take a walk to the corner store, guaranteed there will be plenty driving around. I only drive about 20 miles a day so I can understand these guys with DD cars wanting to upgrade, it's a crappy feeling having what is considered a special car, knowing you are devaluing it every day as a commuter, but for me personally I plan to never sell this car...just keep throwing parts and upgrades on it till I can't no more!

Seriously though, I think he misses his Marauder and is in need of help through withdrawal!:P
Heck, a zillion Cadillac and Hellcat dream car threads get posted every week, at least Johnny did something with his change of life plans.
I feel supporting a Marauder enthusiast, past, present or future is part of this forums spirit.

I'm thinking you guys should go to the chrysler, and nissan forums to discuss your love for their products, If I want to see a ton of pics of chryslers , Ill simply take a walk to the corner store, guaranteed there will be plenty driving around. You decided to sell your Marauder, let it go man, you're like a cling-on from a spoiled relationship, Go find your new love on another site and leave this one for the Marauder fans. Remember, with a Marauder, you not only have to want it, it has to want you, and it looks like you got booted to the curb.
I'm thinking since this is in the off topic forum we can discuss anything.......

If you were considering the switch I would sell your Marauder out right. You get way more that way, and 11-14 Chargers even with Hemi arent as much as you might think. I paid $18,200 for mine and its got a lot of options and only 37k miles. Good deals are out there. You just have to fine them. Look on CarGurus.com they show you all the prices in the area.
and I'm sorry Mr. Bruce Wayne. I didn't realize that I had to have my threads authorized through you before I could post. If they bother you that much you don't have read them. Not that it matters to you but I am part of Mopar Forums just so you are aware. I do still consider myself part of the Marauder family and plan to get another one one day. I only started this thead to let guys know that I was selling my Marauder and asking opinions on what to get to replace it. If that bothers you thats your own problem. :censor: Good day sir.
A low mileage built up turn key ready SC Marauder is in my future so I'm not out of love with these cars but these cars are getting too old for daily beatings and they are special cars that shouldn't be subject to the horrible daily drivers out here, biggest fear would be ending up with a Marauder with a Salvaged title due to a fender bender and the insurance company only looking at the 200k odometer and not giving half a crap about the expensive list of mods and repairs.
I'm sensing a little hostility going on ^^^^ lol but whatever. If you want to go to the store to see a bunch of Chryslers or see one at every stop light then they'll most likely be base model, SXT and rental V6s which are everywhere unlike V8 models. The hemi chargers are the cars that are picking up where the Marauder left off. Blame Ford for leaving us Marauder fans hanging and forcing us to go to the dark side.

Well that didn't last long. The Charger I bought was immaculate but "big but" It was tore up. After 2 returns back to the service department and them reflashing the computer then replacing the valve body then more problems they just said can we just give you your money back and get you into something else? I was so annoyed I just said yes take it. Now for about the same money I went from the Charger R/T to a Challenger R/T fully decked out with most of the accessories I would have put on myself including Tint, T mopar shifter, Magnaflow Exhaust, Mopar CAI, and MGP caliper covers. They practically gave me the car for cost without all the accessories. They really did right by me. If anyone is in the Market for a car and in NorthWest Indiana. Check out Bosak Dodge in Merrillville. They really take care of their customers and make sure they are happy.http://i62.tinypic.com/9tz5m0.jpg

Interested in driving impression between the Charger and Challenger?
thinking I'm a 4 door guy, enjoyed the Charger I tested, but hows the Challenger compare?

I was totally against it at first thinking it was going to be small, but it actually feels bigger. Idk how it would be for someone sitting behind me but that's not my problem. Haha! As far as the drive. Its much different. I have to take into consideration that I had 20's on the Charger and now have 18's on the Challenger but surprisingly the ride in the challenger is a little rougher but in a good way. I feel like I can feel the road more, it's more sporty. It kinda handles like a Mustang or Camaro and the steering is nice and tight with no play. The charger was more of a luxurious ride. You didn't feel much which is also nice. It all depends what you like. I like both. They have the same motor as well but for some reason the Challenger feels more powerful. That could also be because the Charger was bone stock and this one has a few extras (Magnaflow exhaust, Mopar CAI). The Challenger is fun that's for sure. A lot more fun than I gave it credit for until I drove it. Now I own it. Haha!

It will be a big day to trade Accord EX-L V6 in, if it ever really comes.
