What's the best product for the polished wheels?

They are clearcoated so metalpolish will do nothing..best bet is to use paint products, polishes,wax..Your results may vary

They are only coated on the polished side, if you take them off and want to clean the machined side, then a lot use bug and tar remover due to usual asphalt debris inside and a scothbrite pad

It's a bit of work to clean the machined side of the wheel, but worth it!

Yeah I hope your talking about the inside of the wheel with the metal polish. Give it a while using it on the clear and you will see the damage it can do.

Glad I ended up reading this before using the aluminum polish I had bought. After I give them a good scrubbing, I'll use the paint polish instead. My rims aren't looking as shiny as they once did.

Metal polish for the exhaust tips if it's designed for Chrome.

Wash with car shampoo, clay bar, polish and wax will bring the shine back to the wheels.

I think the wheels are polished, not clear coated. Not sure though. If they had clear coat on them, they would have peeled and bubbled up years ago, just like my Ford Imploder did after only one year in service. They were replaced under warranty, only to happen again within one year. My Marauder wheels still look good after 14 years. If they are cleared then why Ford wouldn't use that process on every wheel they make makes no sense. Except $$ I suppose.

I highly recommend hitting them with some rubbing compound before wax/polish. I used one of those drill attachments for polishing headlights to really get in the hard to hit areas. I'm sure some of the body guys in here can recommend a product/method. When BODYMAN, Todd first saw my wheels he thought they were chrome. I probably had over an hour into each of them while off the car.

3M perfect it ultra fine (blue). Hit it with a 3" air buffer to rid the scratches, then hand wax with Mequiars tech 2.0 paste, wipe down with a microfiber.

They will turn out better than they looked when it left the factory.

Same process for your paint, just a larger buffer..

They are clear coated, PPG makes the correct products to strip and refinish polished aluminum wheels.
