Would like to replace gas pedal. Hi, I'm getting quite irritated with the configuration of the gas pedal on my '03 MM. I would like to change it out to some kind of FLAT pedal rather than the half-moon so that my foot will not slip off and get stuck. Any suggestions out there? Thanks, Joseph in South Lake Tahoe Calif.

Hi, yeah I saw those but I don't see how they would replace out since the stock part is all one piece.

They actually fit right over the stock accelerator pedal...resulting in a larger (and somewhat wider) feel to this pedal. The other pedals are replacements.

I haven't installed mine yet, but these pedals are add-ons to the OEM pedals. They follow the same curve as the pedal in place. Sounds like a home remedy may be in order.

Hi Mac,

I've been considering the pedal addons as I did slip off the top of the gas once when I pegged it.

Probably it just takes practice/familiarity with the exact config but one never knows when you might have to hit it in a hurry.

Are you saying the suface area of the addon is the same as the stock pedal? Or that the area is larger as I think TAF says but it wouldn't help with slipping off the top.

Thanks
Jay

Hi Jay.
I saying neither. I haven't installed my set of LadyHawke pedals yet, but I have looked them over. The add-on pedals replace the rubber OEM surface, and appear to be the same size as the OEM pedal. Moreover, Jolt expressed displeasure over the curve in the pedal, and that curve is present in the add-on pedals, so, I don't think this is a quick solution for him.

Hmmm, you guys must have big feet, cuz I never have that problem.

No problem here either with the OEM pedals or the Polished pedals. My foot has never slipped off the gas pedal. The Polished pedals are slightly larger then the OEM pedals, but the curve is close to being the same.

You could probbaly develope a shim to go between the OEM and Polished pedal that would remove some of the curve out of the pedal. You would then need to flaten the Polished pedal out some. Just a thought!

You could go to your local safety supply, Home Depot, Lowes etc and buy some no slip stair tread, (looks like course sandpaper) and stick it on the top of the pedal pad.

I've never had a problem with my foot slipping on the pedal.
